EMBRACE YOUR NEW GROWTH "HEALTHY HAIR STARS WITH THE SCALP "

    in Culture

The natural hair/loc lifestyle is a growing one. Everyday more women are deciding to embrace their natural texture and give up the "creamy crack" and more men are deciding to stop running to their barbers every 2 weeks. Though there are more and more people chosing to lock their hair, the loc lifestyle has changed drastically. Growing locs was once about the lifestyle and culture, but now its become commercialized, it's about style and fashion, using popular products, and most importantly a quick way to make money for some. The word "health" does not come to mind when most folks think about locs, which is unfortunate because the health of your hair is the most important part of your Loc journey, and that health starts from the scalp. The hair on your head ONLY grows from one place, YOUR SCALP. If your scalp is unhealthy, damaged, clogged with products, dried out from using dryers, then the chances of your locs being unhealthy is great. We are obsessed with techniques, styles, products, neatness, etc, while or scalps are being ignored. I say this to all my clients, "your hair is like a plant. If you don't take care of the soil, your plant will die". Take care of your scalp so you can grow a beautiful and healthy crown. For more information on locs care visit my website and don't forget to check out my radio show tonight @ 9 pm Eastern time and also subscribe to my youtube videos. Can we trust our government

    in Entertainment

It seems like another skeleton falls out of the United States’ closet every day. Whistleblowers are coming out of the woodwork, and the government is struggling to keep the scandals contained

In 1996, Gary Webb, a writer for the San Jose Mercury News, published a series of articles known as “Dark Alliance.” The articles detailed how the CIA turned a blind eye as Nicaraguan drug traffickers sold and distributed crack cocaine in Los Angeles throughout the 1980s. It also described how the Reagan administration protected drug dealers from prosecution.

US Army Private Bradley Manning is responsible for what some have called the biggest leak of secret military data ever. His actions also helped put WikiLeaks on the map, as he provided the organization with hundreds of thousands of classified documents.

Among the things Manning revealed were:

    • A secret video, nicknamed “collateral murder” that showed US air crew laughing after killing dozens of people (including reporters and civilians) in an air strike.
    • Detailed records of the civilian death toll in Iraq (even though the military repeatedly said there was no record). Out of 109,000 deaths logged in a six year period, 66,081 were unarmed civilians.
    • US Soldiers committed horrific acts of torture on Iraqi prisoners, and despite hundreds of filed complaints, authorities never investigated.
    • US defense contractor DynCorp was involved in child trafficking.

Currently Manning is being imprisoned by the military and is facing 21 charges, including “aiding the enemy,” which comes with a life sentence. Yes . . . Manning is in jail for exposing the US government paying a company that sold child slaves.

The ROAD TO RECOVERY hosted by Dan Czuba - I'm NOT embaressed to say - I ...

    in Radio

.... Couldn't handle my drinking (of Alcohol - that is) ... What a FREEDOM I now enjoy admitting that Alcohol had kicked my ass! And what about life is different now for me? Why not tune in every Sunday evening from 7 to 9 PM Central Standard Time and listen to our LIVE Call-in Talk Show - as we WELCOME ALL CALLS / CALLERS either sharing their own stories of Experience / Strength / and Hope or...feel free to ASK QUESTIONS as they relate to any type of Addiction and what one can do to either help the individual caught up in the addicition or the individual / s who are either directly or indriectly affected by the afflicted ones disease. Yes it is a disease of the mind, a sort of mental disease - one that most people do not want to address or accept for that matter. But those of us who have faced our addicitions and found recovery recognize that this is no easy task to find recovery - accept recovery and thus live our lives daily in recovery.

The Little Engine that Could, and I'm chuggin' along again.  Sorta like THE Mr. Billy Jack once did.  One tin soilder walks away, ya know. And you thought I was just a Hoosier? OK, Sailor? TBI Guy?  Mean? Back again after a Sabbatical/Hiatus/Pause from BIRN (and more) I'm just plain, not-simple-but-differient Matt. As in Duffin (Muffin with a 'D'). Matt Duffn from Milton Indiana. I created the Sunday Night slot on Brain Injury Radio.

Wasn't Joey Giggles a fine replacement for our TBI-type?  Thank you Sir, a fine example of what our TBI community is all about - sharing and caring, in which evolved YOUR Sunday night show.  Oh, and Laughing (smiles manditory).. Learning? (Usually). Guests? Always.  Hoping for YOU of course. Flirting? Uh, comes with the territory.  And YES, I enjoy making people feel good about themselves. If I was actually 'flirting' with all you lovely dolls, my wife would crack me in the head. If I had one, wife that is. I got a head. Wanna see the MRI history?

Sam Way has called in (after 4 months OFF), and  new TMDS co-host Jenny J Johnson may need more time as well (we shall see and await her presence) - lot's took place in her precious world recently.  A wonderful TBI success story of support and 'drive', Jenny's been 'ADVOCARE-ing" in life again, From Valaprasio, Indiana, she' and her mother have created Support Groups over the past year and a half. Daniel Mollino is taking his TBI Awareness on the road - literally.  Bike riding solo from New Jersey to San Francisco this summer, this Survivor can toss a LOT of talent at you.  Sue Root is anticipated & music by Jim Thalls and Crossroads.
