Again Hell No, Mr. President No CPI Change in Medicare

    in Current Events

It makes no sense for President Obama, to met with Republicans and talk about changing the most successful Democratic social programs in the history of this country for seniors, such as Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security.  If Democrats stay strong and tell the President that they will not support such changes as a CPI change in Medicare (that is the rate at which benefits are calculated) which seniors received in which they paid into the system and is entitle to received at age 65 or if disabled.  Call-in this Thursday and voice your opinion as we discuss this important topic that will affect seniors on Medicare today!

Hell No Mr. President Obama! no CPI Change in Medicare

    in Politics

Has President Obama lost his mind in proposing changes to the CPI formula to how benefits are calculated in which Medicare recipients receive their monthly benefits.  The Republicans want to cut the amount of benefits recepiants are currently receiving, they say that Medicare is driving up the cost of health care cost for many Americans and will drive the country broke in the future which is a lie.  Democrats do a poor job in letting the Republicans control the narrative.  Join me this Thursday, and give your opinion on should the President start the conversation with the Republicans on balancing the budget and managing the country with changes to the CPI formula to Medicare.

Jim Bowie - CPI is For Everyone!

    in Business

Jim Bowie, Dynamic Thought Leader, Speaker, and Author of "Lean Acres", joins me for what I know will be a great discussion on our shared belief that CPI (Continuous Performance Improvement) is intended to be accessible to EVERYONE.
We'll also be discussing his book, "Lean Acres", which he says was written to facilitate the translation and the transfer of ownership of each of the core methodologies (including strategic planning) to EVERYONE.
Jim believes that "consultants and subject matter experts will always be in demand to serve as mentors/advisor, but the spirit of CPI cannot be contained within individual Master Black Belts.  It is intended to spread amongst the populace, as demonstrated on Lean Acres Farm."

    in Politics Progressive

The top House Republican campaign official broke with other GOP leaders Wednesday in criticizing President Barack Obama over his chained CPI proposal.
During an interview with CNN’s Wolf Blitzer, National Republican Congressional Committee Chairman Greg Walden (R-Ore.) said Obama was “trying to balance this budget on the backs of seniors” with the plan, which would change the way Social Security cost-of-living adjustments are calculated.
Daniel Scarpinato, a spokesman for the National Republican Congressional Committee, said Walden is opposed to “chained CPI,” even if that’s out of step with other GOP leaders.
“He believes it’s wrong to cut benefits for seniors to pay for more wasteful spending,” Scarpinato said.

Plan-B; Social Security and Chained CPI; Chris Christie

    in News

Chapter 1: White House Calls for Hold on Decision Regarding Plan-B Morning After Pill   The FDA announced lowered  the age which young women can obtain Plan-B, the so-called “morning-after pill” without a prescription from 17 years-of-age to 15. A federal district judge thought there shouldn’t be any age restriction. The Administration reacted by asking the court for a stay while they appeal.  We talk to Linda Feldmann reporter for the Christian Science Monitor who has been following the story.   Chapter 2: Social Security and Chained CPI   Retirement assistance be it Social Security and Medicare remains a constant battle when Congress debates the budget. Various budget proposals have varied on how they would address its solvency. President Obama included the adoption of chained-CPI to calculate future social security needs and payouts to retirees. The Senate did not. The Republican budget didn’t, but included other cuts. We talk to Mark Romm, Director of Masters Program in American Government at Georgetown University and Max Richtman, President and CEO of the National Committee to Preserve Social Security.   Chapter 3:  New Jersey Governor Chris Christie Using State Race for 2016 Ambitions   Chris Christie is again bucking his own party, calling for expanded background checks to curb gun violence. Meanwhile, the New Jersey Gubernatorial election is 6 months away, though many are calling it a done deal. Christie is a popular national figure, even having been named one of Time’s 100 most influential people. His Opponent is Barbara Buono, a state senator who served as the Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee and as majority leader. We get an update from Paul Mulshine, columnist at the New Jersey Star Ledger.

    Ron Nawrocki - Wealth DNA

    in Real Estate

State of the Housing Market - The Wealth DNA radio show is dedicated to helping you increase your wealth, as well as educating savers & investors. During this show our returning guest Michael Orr will help educate us on a major asset class, which affects each of us whether we invest in residential real estate, we own a home, or we rent. I've said before that once housing prices start to rise rapidly, we can expect housing to be kicked out of the US CPI just like food & energy. Although as far as I know, we don't have a single listener who can avoid eating, consuming energy, and living somewhere !
It's been a full 3 years since we had Michael Orr on the show, and I forget that most listeners don't have regular access to the information he provides in the Cromford Report and as Director of the Real Estate Center Theory & Practice at the WP Carey School of Business at Arizona State University (ASU). So you may not know that his prediction on the housing market bottom, the rapid rise, and the plateau in prices starting late in 2013 happened just as he stated. I can assure you, he's not like one of the talking heads just sharing his opinion ... he bases his predictions on facts and trends. And no one has better data on housing than he does.
So has the resurgence of housing prices just begun? Are we in another bubble? And what are the indicators he suggests we use to navigate this important asset class? We'll cover these topics and many more, so prepare your questions for THE expert, grab a cup of coffee, tea, glass of wine, or your favorite beverage and join us for the State of the Housing Market ...
