    CPAC 2015

    in Politics

Scott Walker hit all the right notes when he took the stage at the Conservative Political Action Conference on Thursday to address a standing-room-only crowd — even gamely handling a heckler.Walker was talking up Republicans’ push to pass a right-to-work law in Wisconsin, a measure to weaken labor unions, when a heckler stood up and began shouting in the packed ballroom. What he said wasn’t clear, but Walker handled it like a pro: He quipped, “Apparently the protesters come [here] from Wisconsin as well.”

Looking to shore up his own bona fides on foreign policy, Walker went out of his way to tell the audience that, as governor, he receives FBI briefings about potential threats to his state. And he pointed to his 2011 face-off with public-employee unions as preparing him for these sorts of situations.“If I can take on 100,000 protesters, I can do the same across the world,” National Review
Rand Paul wins CPAC straw poll.

    WHO'S TO BLAME: CPAC Seriously?

    in Politics

Issue:  CPAC is like one big conservative satire. I am pretty sure it is not real.  Who's to Blame?

Man CPAC always brings the laughs.   Conservatives candidates seem to be willing to make fools out of themselves there. This year an idiot speaker told a wife beating joke and another speaker rambled on about beatnicks with STDs being the greatest threat to man kind. And then there's the new shiny 22 year old barbie who is changing the definition of woman.

Is it the speakers and candidates who cannot be taken seriously ?

Or is it the members of CPAC (the people who the candidates perform for) who are really the clowns?

And why do they even do polls; they are the punchline to the this whole comedy?

Let's face it, does anyone take conservatives seriously anymore?

    CPAC, Internet Neutrality, and Jigawhat?

    in Politics Progressive

On the November 26, 2015 episode of Liberal Dan Radio:

Kristi Capel, 2006 Miss Missouri USA and current Fox newscaster in Ohio, was commenting on Lady Gaga and her music in general after the Oscars and dropped a racial slur in the process. There has been a lot of coverage of this but it makes me ask the question of if sometimes you can get a pass if you are assumed to be stupid.

CPAC started this week, so I will go over a small review of what has happened so far.

Finally, the FCC made a decision about Net Neutrality. I will go over what this means for you and why many Conservatives are wrong when it comes to this regulation of the internet.

Those topics, headlines, tweet of the week and more at 8pm Central on Liberal Dan Radio: Talk From The Left, That's Right.

Remember, I am currently running the Liberal Dan Radio Go Fund Me page to help expand the show. If you listen and want to chip in some money or if you want to advertise, please visit the page.

Finally, if you are listening after the show you can always comment on the show thread at LiberalDan.com.

CPAC - Conservatives Pushed Aside Conjob

    in Politics Conservative

From dueling ‘conservative’ conferences to ‘shutdown’ showdowns to 2016 hopes and dreams of conquest, chaos and conflicts – the show must go on. And rest assured, it is a show, it is a fraud, it is merely psychological theater. It matters little who the POTUS is when the ‘choices’ are always selected by the corporatist oligarchy. Even if you manage a little rebellion, one chief executive is incapable of reigning in the federal monstrosity. The Big Government bureaucracy rolls on like a perpetual-motion machine for the benefit of those who dwell in the shadows. Back and forth, up is down, right is left and left is right, hit the lights, queue the score–IT IS SHOW TIME...fade to black.

CPAC once helped thrust Reagan to a conservative landslide when New Deal progressivism seemed to be the permanent state of affairs. True conservatives are pushed aside at this conference and manipulated into supporting RINOs with an imperial agenda in this sham of an electoral process.

Tyranny shall persist UNLESS liberty-loving people band together to restore Constitutional governance for a free and virtuous nation from your own neighborhood on up to DC. Restore The Constitutional Militia of the Several States, sound money, free economies, religious and civil liberties as well as a sensible foreign policy of non-interventionist defense backed up by the most powerful Navy and Marines. Now is the last chance to stop those who perpetuate a hegemonic empire abroad and a fascist police state at home.  To defeat the lawless hordes of Cultural Marxists, fascists, oligarchs, kleptocrats, useful idiots and their fellow travelers especially the Democrat-socialists, first you MUST CRUSH the Neocon RINOs. . .for liberty!

Will Arkansas anti-gay law legalize discrimination for all unprotected classes?

    in LGBT

Monday, February 23rd, Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson allowed a new law to block future anti-discrimination laws (to go into effect 90 days after the legislative session ends later this summer).  While the premise of the new law known as SB 202 appears reasonable, in actuality this law allows legal discrimination for all non-protected classes.

In this episode, we hear from three Arkansas residents.  Meet once again Scott Wyant, Founder of Straight Talk Arkansas, a website dedicated to Living liberally in the Mid-South.

We'll also hear from Cathey Shoshone and Christina Harrison. Cathey is the Co-Chair and Christina is the Founder of Arkansans For Equality.

Christina Harrison was born and raised in Arkansas. She founded Arkansans for Equality in 2011. As an ally, she had become frustrated with the bigotry she came across towards our fellow Arkansans in the LGBTQ community and wanted to do something to help. She began a ballot initiative to repeal Amendment 83 soon after. Christina is a combat veteran in the Army National Guard, and has just recently returned from a tour in Afghanistan.

Cathey Shoshone, also an ally, was born in Arkansas but has lived in several states around the South. She lives in Arkansas currently, She "liked" the Arkansan for Equality facebook page and volunteered to collect signatures for the ballot initiative.  The ballot initiative became obsolete when Cheryl Maples and Jack Wagoner won their case in Judge Piazza's courtroom legalizing same-sex marriage.  A federal case has also overthrown Amendment 83 to the Arkansas State Constitution. This decision has been stayed pending an appeal hearing.
