The best way to honor our veterans is to remember the sacrifices they have made. It is important for younger generations to learn about history from places that preserve these cherished memories and see items that belonged to our veterans. The TN Museum of Aviation is open year round and is a “living” museum. The exhibits and aircraft change frequently which makes each visit memorable. The museum is a great place for families to reminisce with veterans willing to share their memories with younger generations. When you visit the Tennessee Museum of Aviation, you are taking a step back in time to experience a part of history in the heart of the Smoky Mountains. In this segment of The Organic View Radio Show, host, June Stoyer talks to Vietnam War Veteran, Mr. Don Campbell about an amazing collection of memorabilia at the Tennessee Aviation Museum in beautiful Sevierville, Tennessee! Today’s show is sponsored by The City of Sevierville, the east coast’s hottest most affordable eco-travel destination for families, couples and holiday weekends. On this episode, we head south for our annual Mississippi visit. This time, we pull into McComb, Mississippi. The town of McComb is home to the McComb Railroad Museum. The town owes it's beginnings to the railroads, as do many of Mississippi towns. The McComb Railroad Museum is housed in the current Amtrak Station and has a vast collection of railroad artifacts and some rolling stock.
We visit with McComb's vice-mayor, about what the railroad and the railroad museum currently means to the area. We will also find out how he personally supports the museum. Then we visit with the museum's director, Winnie Howell. Ms. Howell will educate us on why she decided to save the depot and the town's railroad history. Several of the museum's volunteers will stop by to tell us what resoration projects they are working on.
Amtrak's Area Station Manager will closeout the episode to talk the role Amtrak plays in the town.

The King of DC Media, William Powell, welcomes actor Patrick James Barry, from Night at the Museum, to talk about the Hollywood-actor-grind and his first stabs at stand-up comedy.
Johnathan of the Meskwaki Cultural Center & Museum. He runs the historic preservation department for the Sac & Fox tribe of the Mississippi.
The Meskwaki are not well known in popular culture, but they have been well documented in academic circles. This tribe, almost single-handedly brought down "New France". They rejected attempts towards being Christianized (including an attempt by Dr Charles Eastman to convert them in 1897) and going to boarding schools. They rejected the "no dancing letter" of 2-24-1923 which attempted to suspend Pow Wows, by hosting a big Pow Wow event that attracted 3000 Iowans a day. Very amazing history! Ask Johnathan to talk about this. Thanks!
