Entrepreneurship Equals Independence for Women - Mom Biz Solutions Show

    in Entrepreneur

Women, particularly moms, are looking for flexibility and independence when it comes to their careers. Today Lara talks about why entrepreneurship makes so much sense for women, why women make great entrepreneurs, and how it can create independence for many women who seek their own income.

Lara offers business coaching along with mothering tips, small business marketing strategies, and funny stories about the joys and chaos of being a mom entrepreneur. If you could use a little inspiration, or a guide from a mom entrepreneur who's "been there, done that," or if you just want to hear from a woman who has learned to laugh off her mistakes and accept her life as perfect (just the way it is), you'll want to tune in every week.

Lara is an author, speaker and business coach. Hire her when you need the clarity and confidence to make big decisions and changes in your life or business, or have her speak to your group.

  • Corporate Learning Programs That Drive Results!

    in Business

Join us today on Women Leading the Way Radio as Michelle Bergquist, your host of Women Who Lead, interviews Kate Carroll, Director of Global Process at Ingram Micro.

Kate brings us a discussion from the corporate women’s point of view!  Kate has seen many forms of management & leadership development programs. Kate’s current hot button is driving learning programs that drive results. She focuses on those that are preparatory for taking on a larger role in the org. Those that provide exposure to concepts and business scenarios while offering related projects within the business are the best. It combines the educational and experiential and helps weed out participants who are not ready. It can be a very complex environment, but one where women ARE on the front lines.

Kate has a long standing career with the same employer that grew like crazy through the tech boom, and because of that, she has had tons of opportunity to learn new things, transfer around the organization, try roles outside her comfort zone, and advance. The growth trajectory meant she was often acting quickly to market needs and valued associates who were adaptable, inclusive, and creative. Mentors have had a large impact for her, from her mother to professional advocates!

As the CEO and Co-Founder of Connected Women of Influence, Michelle Bergquist is a passionate advocate for women in business. At Connected Women of Influence, we believe that more women need to lead in business and everything we do is center-focused on designing platforms, programs, connections and collaborative opportunities for b2b women to prosper, succeed and lead the way in business today!

Corporate Personhood Using 14th Amendment to Fight Minimum Wage Laws

    in Politics

Unbelievable but true. The case of “International Franchise Association vs. City of Seattle” is now being heard in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. The franchisers are claiming that a living wage violates their Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. The members of the International Franchise Association claim the city of Seattle showed “animus” – or hostility – to corporations because the law goes after corporations as a disfavored minority. That means corporations think their civil liberties are being violated just like ex-slaves of the 19th century. It sounds surreal but the International Franchise Association with outside financial assistance has hired conservative corporate lawyer Paul Clements who is famous for arguing cases before the Supreme Court. It’s a country gone mad. Listen and understand the insanity. WIth my guest Ron Fein of Free Speech for People. The Tim Danahey Show discusses economics, government, social issues, history, and non-fiction books in a magazine format featuring in-depth conversations with guests. Politics and inflammatory conversations are discouraged as they are divisive and counter-productive. Instead, the show seeks under-reported topics and delves into facts, different perspectives, and ramifications of each perspective. The show does not espouse a political agenda. Danahey’s strength is to take complex subjects, talk with experts and make them comprehensible and entertaining for average listeners
