On this 9th Episode of Indie Book Rebels, we're had planned to discuss writing Thrillers & Suspense fiction with the very successful Indie author C.E. Martin, but ended up focusing more on a genre the incorporates thrills, suspense, mystery and action all in one fast-paced form, namely Pulp Fiction.
Drawing upon his experience as a USAF veteran and seventeen years as a criminal investigator, C. E. Martin has penned numerous pulp-styled thrillers. A long-time fan of pulp fiction and men's adventure, C.E. was first inspired to write by classics like The Destroyer and Doc Savage. When not authoring the latest in his own Stone Soldiers military thriller series, C.E. can be found watching B-movies with his kids or battling virtual evildoers on X-Box Live.
Recently, a new movement has risen. It's a call for more diverse books. It became known during the Book Expo where, from what I'm told, there was a startling lack of diverse books available.
Part of me thinks it’s about time.
During my journey to publish as a Christian author, I found myself floored by how many traditional publishing houses neglected to buy my book -- not because it wasn't a good product but because it has an interracial couple. One would think in the 21st century, this kind of attitude is archaic. Shouldn't we have arrived by now?
I guess not.
Join me as I talk about the need for diversity and Christian fiction. Our guest co-host is author Unoma Osiegbu-Nwankwor. You can call in at 646-595-2083, press 1 to be live on air. Or you can download the WLUV Radio mobile app. Any way you can, join us.
Since the Reagan era we have had over 3 decades in decline for the middle-class and true working class Americans. It's seems that the corporate world was launched back in the 80's and since that time they have never looked back. Sending jobs oversea's, closing down hundreds of thousands of plants, while gaining tax breaks and access to corporate welfare. Well the people of the state are fed up and are fighting back, and it's time for us to stop believing in what we see and start acting and moving into what we can create....by faith
