Is there a particular brand of Latino cool, different from the mainstream American one? Which icons define coolness in the Latino world? What is the opposite of Latino cool? And more importantly: what does all of this have to do with Willie Colón and Marc Anthony? These are some of the questions that José Manuel Simián (Executive Editor of Manero) and Marcelo Báez (DJ, musician and contributor to Manero) tackle in the first episode of the Manero Pop Podcast—a free-form biweekly conversation on Latino pop culture.

Wholism is a MindBodySpirit issue. Allopathic approaches divide the body, and separate body from mind...yet for many thousands of years, Eastern knowledge has approached malady as imbalance...rather than disease. My Guest and Friend Michael Pellegrino, Wholistic Nutritionist, incorporates Western and Eastern knowledge to bring a rounded, WHOLE View of the needs of our Bodies for their fuel...fuel for body, mind and spirit. We DO become what we eat...and even how the food is prepared matters. Steaming produces coolness Energy in foods while boiling imbues it with heat Energy.
Michael is available for consultations. You can find him at http://www.naturalholisticsolutions.com or write to him at email@example.com

The 60's were a wild, yet laid-back time, full of groovy music, peace, free love, free drugs and hippies! It was a time when people just went with the flow, emotionally and physically, and didn't think twice about doing it. Lava lamps and black lights with glow in the dark posters and tie-dye was all the rage! The coolness that is Woodstock took place during this time and the horrendousness that is the Vietnam War took place in this decade, as well. This really was a very contradictory time to be alive. Please join us this month, as we revisit the decades of "The 60's," "The 70's," "The 80's" and "The 90's!" We will celebrate the good and talk about the bad of one decade per week. Call in and share your memories of each decade or the things you miss from that era and even the things you don't miss and could do without during that time.
