Dependas...What you need to know so you don't become a victim.

    in Military

    Top Definition

    Dependa

A person who is married to someone in the service who doesn't just depend on their spouse for financial support, but pretty much relies on them for it. They start out all cute and All-American until after the wedding, then it's like cookies, couch and coach purses. Arguing with other dependas over Facebook all day over who's the bigger dependa. They're generally not educated and have no goals or aspirations in life. They live their lives through their husband's successes and think they rank and are better than "civilians" when they themselves are in face...still civilians.

You can usually find them at the PX and/or commissary like a herd of cattle during every pay period blowing their spouse's paycheck on oreos, Coach and Michael Kors and then complaining 2 days after "they" got paid that they're broke and need someone to deliver them free diapers for their 6th baby. (also see "dependa-twat", "dependasaurus" and "dependapotomus")

-"My husband and I just got married last month, what are some websites that give free stuff to military wives?"
    --"Shut up dependa."

-"I got married to My Marine, he's going to take care of me now. No more working at Taco Bell for this girl!"

(http://kingscountydistillery.com) We talk about the past and future of his passion for distilling as well as illegal stills and dirty moonshine. Set inside the Brooklyn Navy Yard, we get the opportunity to peak at the ever creepy ruins of Admiral’s Row and romp about in the Navy Yard Museum “Building 92” Where we met Monica, our awesome ambassador to the secret noises that happen at night there. When Too Much is Too Much, How Do We Proceed When Expectations are Unrealistic?

    in Motivation

Tune in and We will Sort this out!

Another thing is also I find myself wanting to give up on life (even in my teens) whenever I feel my heart sinking but as usual my resilient self will set in. It may not be resilience but a choice that I don't want to dwell in it. How do I help myself? My son thinks most people are bad & is very judgmental. He doesn't have any close frens. He says he can't forgive me for things I said to him during his teens or things I didn't support him in etc. I can't even advise him as he will always tell me the 'realities' as he believes it & never fails to remind me that the 'rot' in him is because of me. How do I help him? Why do I get anxieties/fear that my son will not be pleased with certain things that we do eg giving chocs or cookies to colleagues without asking him whet he wants it or not. How do I not live this way? How do I make my love perfect (1 John 4:18)? I went to Elijah Hse (some classes on inner healing) wanting to know how to change to help my son. I didn't hv a very good childhood but I grew up thinking most people are good & everyone including myself says I am a happy go lucky person. But in EH I found myself crying in some topics. During some sessions I can cry for more than an hr (waves and waves just keep coming up from my belly to my throat) but I don't even know why. I was told I may hv self hatred and hopelessness. I also realised I don't know how to love myself (I can give my money to people easily but buying something for myself is a very hard thing.  I also know I wasn't in touch with my heart and that was why I always seem to be so busy. Last question is : I hv been praying to God/Jesus for wisdom and find myself striving but can't seem to feel any closer to God..

Joel Osteen Daily Devotionals and Quotes on Happy Talk Radio "Praise Power"

    in Religion

    Hello World!

Welcome to Happy Talk Radio.  This is GG Stanley.  I am you host with the most happy news from coast-to-coast.

Happy Talk Radio is about you and me.  It is a family friendly media embracing and transcending the totality of happiness with happy talk and happy thoughts.

Today, Happy Talk Radio is getting its "Praise On" with Joel Osteen's Daily Devotionals, Quotes and Declarations.

ARE YOU READY FOR A NEW PLACE IN YOUR LIFE?

God desires to take you to new places in your life. He wants to take you to deeper places in your walk with Him, and He wants to take you into higher places of blessing in your life. Are you ready to go to places that you’ve never been before?

So many people today get stuck in a rut because they don’t want to get out of their comfort zone. They want to stay with what they know because it’s familiar.

But in order for you to reach your full potential, you have to be willing to step out into the unknown. You won’t ever walk on water until you step out of the boat! We all have areas where we can rise higher. Open your heart today and be ready to step out into the unknown. Trust that the Lord will guide and order your every step. Begin to expect that the unexpected is on the way. Be ready to step out into new places. (shared by Sherrie Hudson, New Advent Alto Leader)

“Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.”
    Hebrews 11:1, NLT

Happy Talk Radio is bringing it home.  Praise the Lord!
