Volkswagen unveiled and launched their "new" 2013 VW Beetle-Bug convertible prior to the Los Angeles Auto Show. A media-press event was held prior to journalists taking the vehicles out for a day's test driving.
ALAN GELL, automotive journalist, was in attendance on the first "wave" of the media and recorded this special presentation on Volkswagen marketing by Jonathon Browning. Browning is the President of the US Marketing Division for Volkswagen.

The VW beetle bug car is a classic for almost all ages of drivers. Earlier this year, Volkswagen introduced the newest generation of this marvelous little car in the form of a new coupe. Immediately prior to the Los Angeles Auto Show in November 2012, they unveiled and launched their new 2013 version of the beetle bug CONVERTIBLE.
Journalist ALAN GELL was among those who were invited to the launch and during the test drive route, Alan stopped to interview ANDRES VALBUENA. Andres is the Product Manager for the VW Beetle and discussed it during this interview.
Originally from Madison, Wisconsin, Ms. Catherine (Catz) LeBlanc has worked as a Physician’s Assistant and project manager. In 2009, she suffered a sports concussion, then two months later was rear-ended totaling her Beetle convertible. She has been disabled by Mild Traumatic Brain Injury and did not find a pocket-book for brain injured athletes/veterans/civilians...so she wrote one. Tell Me This: Encouragement and Hope after Brain Injury was published 2013. She has been a guest on Brain Injury Radio and given speeches as an Ambassador for the BIA of Massachusetts. She is a contributor in the soon to be released Chicken Soup for the Soul: Recovering from Traumatic Brain Injuries.
This show is a gathering place for anyone seeking recovery from the challenges of life on life's terms. I introduce topics, and survivor's share their experience, strength and hope. We discuss useful tools that have helped us lighten the load, of our journey through recovery.

Noted journalist ALAN GELL recently participated in test-driving at the Texas Motor Speedway. It was the annual Spring Roundup conducted by the Texas Auto Writers Association.
One of the most popular vehicles was the 2014 Corvette Stingray, a 'Lime Green Rock' color convertible. It was powered by a 6.2-liter V8 matched with six speed paddle shift automatic transmission.
During the drive, Alan interviewed STEVE FLYNN, the Regional Marketing Manager for Chevrolet.

William “Billy” Johnson is the Director of Political and Public Affairs at the Institute for Scrap Recycling Industries, Inc. (ISRI) in Washington, D.C. Billy works closely with ISRI members to formulate and advance the scrap recycling industry’s policy priorities and promote the industry as America’s Original Recycler©.
Billy leads ISRI’s efforts in Washington, D.C. towards the establishment of a bi-partisan Congressional Recycling Caucus with the goal of creating a permanent approach to educating policymakers, promoting the recycling industry, and advancing recycling issues on Capitol Hill.
Accordingly, Billy actively leads ISRI’s political action activities and activates ISRI’s members through a constituent-based grassroots advocacy program using Membership Fly-In Days and Congressional facility tours to communicate and advance the recycling industry’s priorities.
Billy has a B.A. in Political Science from North Carolina State University and a Masters in Public Administration from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute. Billy enjoys sailing, golfing, cross-country skiing, cooking, and dreaming of a shiny red Porsche convertible.
