Years ago it just wouldn’t happen. News would be buried. Unrighteous acts hidden. But today, not even fire can spread as fast as word on the internet. In today’s electronic age, nothing is sacred, nothing is secret.
This week on Apocalypse Nana, Rob and Jackie discuss how the internet and social media has changed the way we live and view things. How it has influenced our knowledge and ability to be judgmental. On the positive said, how it has helped us to be more aware and proactive to injustices in the world.
In good old fashioned debate style, Rob and Jackie tackle today’s hottest controversy subjects. Such as Sandra Bland and Hulk Hogan.
We will also discuss if this sudden need to closely examine everyone’s lives will carry over into the apocalypse or will, finally, privacy prevail when the end comes.
With us, this week, Katelyn will be editing Beginnings while we broadcast and special possible guest, Ed Huang, AKA Henry. May be there, but hasn’t a clue he will be on our show.
It’s a show you don’t want to miss!

As event season gets ready to kick off for the Pagan community there are any number of minor controversies that might crop up. In the passed there have been issues regarding gender in sacred space, certain notable presenters and their pasts, and other issues - both minor and major. This year seems to be no exception to that. With Covenant of the Goddess facing member resignations and turmoil over their public statement regarding racial issues and a first time out festival in direct conflict with a well established festival - in both timing and geographic location - there seems to be now shortage of controversies to address this year.
RevKess and KaliSara will talk about some of those current issues and how they may play out in the near future. From Peter Dybing's strong stand on racial inclusivity in practice and language in regards to CoG to the Gathering of Pagan Souls festival being in direct conflict with Heartland Spirit Festival at the end of May. Along the way they may also address some of the past issues that have come in the Pagan world and how they were addressed and handled by those who could make a difference. They will also talk about other upcoming events in the Pagan world, including ConVocation and PantheaCon.

In this episode of The Ed Boston podcast, I plan to take a long look at the recent controversy regarding a Worship Leader in their New York City church and his openly gay lifestyle. Some of the angles we will explore are the social media response, the response of Hillsong Church, the responsibilities of churches on the topic of homosexuality and more. I will take as long as necessary to cover these topics because this is not a Hillsong issue, it is a "Church Universal" issue. It is complex, it is important, it is addressed in the Bible and it's something "The Church" cannot avoid and hope goes away.
Any time we have left will be devoted to current events.
Rachel Dolezal has brought a term to her pretending to be black controversy which caused her to have to resign her new position as leader of the NAACP in Spokane Washington. She has used the term Trans-Racial and speaks about her identity in similar terms as a transgender person does. She speaks of at the age of 5 years old coloring with the brown crayon instead of the peach crayon. She says that she "identifies" herself as a black woman and not a white woman.
So what is trans-racial?
Is this a real term? Or did Ms. Dolezal just make it up?
Can a Black person identify with being white even if they are very dark skinned?
What are your thoughts on Rachel Dolezal?
We will discuss this and more on tonight's topic!
