Host Monica Richardson will interview Carl Hart (born 1966) is an associate professor of psychology and psychiatry at Columbia University. Hart is known for his research in drug abuse and drug addiction. Hart was the first tenured African American professor of sciences at Columbia University. Carl Hart has won the NAACP Image Award for outstanding literary work and Hart was the first tenured African American professor of sciences at Columbia University. Check out his Ted Talks and interview on Democracy Now. Monica Richardson has just completed her first Documentary Film called "The 13th Step." She appeared on Katie Couric with Gabrielle Glaser last summer.
Welcome to General Education Basic Mathematics. Your Instructor for this class is Mr. Kenmanuel Carrizales. This class is taught in English and Spanish. In this class you will need your required and suggested materials to be proficient and successful. Attendance is very important. You are required to take this class online once per week and be in class one day per week.
We will cover Mathematics including the basic concepts of addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and fractions not to exclude other important mathematical notions, etc.
The class online is a closed forum, meaning you will not be able to ask questions of the Instructor while he is teaching. You will need to send him an email with any questions as well as a daily email to gain full credits for your attendance. The Instructor, Mr. Kenmanuel Carrizales will send each of you a course syllabus and lesson plan to assist you with preparing for the class.

The talk will focus on discussing common anxiety issues that arise at the start of the school year and ways for parents to help their children cope with these situations. Some of these issues may include trouble with peer groups and making new friends, dealing with new or difficult teachers, increased academic and performance anxiety, separation anxiety and worries about being away from parents after spending a lot of time with them over the summer, or transitional issues such as starting at a new school and moving into middle school.

Dr. Sapana Patel and Dr. Andrew Schmidt will talk about a recent innovation in the delivery of psychotherapy – internet-based cognitive behavioral therapy, or ICBT. They will describe mental health conditions for which ICBT has been developed and used successfully in the past, tell us about how ICBT works paying particular attention to an ICBT program for obsessive compulsive disorder. They will also describe an ongoing research trial where interested people suffering with OCD can try ICBT through the NYSPI and Columbia pilot program.

Marysville Pilchuck High School shooting
A well-liked freshman "homecoming prince" opened fire inside a high-school cafeteria north of Seattle on Friday, killing one girl and shooting four other students in the head before taking his own life.
Three of the students wounded at Marysville-Pilchuck High School were in "very critical" condition Friday afternoon, said a hospital spokeswoman.
Police said the gunman, identified Friday evening as Jaylen Fryberg, died from a self-inflicted gunshot. It was not clear whether the girl was pronounced dead at the scene.
