Once again it's Ladies Night and just like the expression says everything old is new again, at least in our spotlight. Brittany Wonder, one of our previous Ladies Night guests joins Hoodslam Wrestling founder Sam Khandaghabadi to talk about their show this weekend, appropriately called "80s For The Ladies IV-Revenge Of The Radio Star". We will discuss the difference between Hoodslam and other independent promotions out there. Our guests, in no particular order as of the writing of this are three top female wrestlers, one of whom was trained by one of the top tag teams in the industry. Kenaddi Brink was trained at the prestigious 3 D Wrestling Academy. She is appearing in rings all over the country and was recently part one of the best known tournaments in wrestling, the ECWA Super 8. The tournament contained many notables, including former TNA star Santana Garrett. Ray Lyn is NOT just another pretty face. This blonde beauty is a mainstay of the roster of Ohio Valley Wrestling but is also going to be part of the renewal of Women Of Honor and will be facing our other guest at that show. Kelly Klein, also known as Mary Elizabeth Monroe, has been a mainstay of the female wrestling scene. This St. Louis native went to high school in South Africa and returned for college then started training at Heartland Wrestling Association. One of her trainers was former WCW/WWE star Jimmy Yang. Along with her upcoming matches with Rae and ODB, we will talk to her about the scariest close encounter she had with a fan. As always, we invite you to give us your questions via chat, Skype or phone at (347) 826-9418. All questions are subject to screening for appropriate content and will be used as time allows. Hybrid Jazz From Trish Hennessey - with Pianist/Composer Romain Collin!

    in Music

When we last spoke to the inside/out beautiful Romain Collin, he was immersed in another project. That's the correct term: immersed.  When listening to the way he offers music, there is the distinct feeling that Romain had nothing else on his mind but living the chords he was playing.  You can almost see him: eyes closed, smiling at memories - or hope from an anticipated time, savoring the life captured in five minutes worth of piano resuscitation.

Our guest just celebrated his birthday.  He's young - not yet 40 - but Romain has lived much longer than that.  The echoes of other times linger in his songs.  Beautifully scary.  Right on time for Halloween :)  We'll have to ask if that event is celebrated in France, the country of his birth.  What the French celebrate for SURE: education.  And a beloved transplant knows all about that.  At Berklee first (scholarship), he was then accepted at the Monk Institute (another scholarship!).  During that time, he was fortunate to be able to tour with two key legends who oversee admissions into the school: Herbie Hancock and Wayne Shorter.  He also studied with Ron Carter, Charlie Haden and Mulgrew Miller.

2008 saw his debut "stick" with Jazz critics.  "The Rise and Fall of Pipokuhn" created a reverberation throughout the community - and Romain was invited to join the esteemed Marian McPartland on her popular "Jazz Piano" radio show.  In 2012, this "visionary" (NPR) joined us on the show to tell us about "The Calling" - which resulted in more praise from those who don't tend to do so.  Orchestral film scoring - and playing with Christian McBride and Lauryn Hill (among others) - kept him busy every single day.  But his eye was on a third album - and here it is.  Join us for a discussion of "Press Enter!" 10/29 :)

Bruce A. Klein Gives; A Theologian's Look at Creation!

    in Christianity

Welcome to another show here at, "Your Place".  We have a real treat for you tonight with our guest speaker Bro. Bruce Klein.  There are a lot of thoughts today on creation and the changes that have been adapted to the theory of evolution.  Many people today do not know how to answer the comments that say, “science has proven bible creation is a myth”. Then they send their children to public school where they are taught and tested on evolution as a fact instead of a theory. Working to drive out faith with doubt! I am sure that this show or shows will be your answer to all of this and more. Because God's word is just as true today as it has ever been! This is a show you need to hear and get all of your friends to listen too! Bro. Klein and his wife are not just bible scholars.  A couple of weeks ago Bro. Klein and his sons were in Glen Rose hunting for dinosaur tracks and fossils. They found a lot of fossils and some actual dinosaur tracks.  They even were able to spend time with Dr. Carl Baugh. He has the Creation Science Museum in the area. Dr. Baugh took Bro Klein and his sons into his biosphere. As a rule this does not happen due to no insurance coverage for the public to tour this facility. Bro. Klein, will tell you what a privilege it was to see this first hand!  Let us tell you a little more about Pastor and scholar Bruce Klein, President of Apostolic Theological Seminary and Bible College (http://www.atseminary.com), has twenty-four published books, Three years as a Apostolic missionary in China, and is the Pastor of The Bible Church, Abbeville, Louisiana.  He and his wife do this work together! They are not sitting still and being content. They are opening another campus in Woodlands, Texas (north of Houston).   Are you as excited as we are to hear what Bro. Klein has for us!  So are we!
