Professor Muhammad Yunus never wanted to be a banker and he certainly never imagined winning the Nobel Peace Prize. Yet his quest to help the working poor invest in themselves led to both. Known as the father of microcredit, Yunus spent years developing the Grameen Bank in Bangladesh, and in 1983 it became a fully licensed bank with a twist-it was owned by its borrowers-mainly poor women, and its mission was to eradicate poverty, not make a profit. Yunus is famous for saying that in developing Grameen he deliberately did the opposite of what a conventional bank would do. Today, the success of Grameen Bank has changed the lives of 7.5 million Bangladeshi borrowers and their families.
Now brining his bank to America, Grameen America opened for business in a nondescript office building in Jackson Heights, Queens in late 2007.
This is a non-collateral lending bank, and Gayle Ferarro will be in the studio to tell us all about Grameen Bank and how it works. Tune in this Friday, and learn all about Grameen Bank.
In the studio with me will be my Co-Host Sybil Marie Presley, and my radio personalities Sharon Coleman, Larone Woodard, and Rev. Douglas Martin.

The traumatic effects of having your precious loved one kidnapped and imprisoned by this blatantly corrupt industry in legal, yet lawless, human trafficking for profit and power.
There is no nightmare or Hollywood horror film that can compare to having my fiancé and soul mate permanently removed from my life forever... As in every case of kidnapping, the first concern is for her well- being. That NEVER changes. Also, there's the ever-present sense of urgency to rescue her from her captors.
The utter disbelief, sleepless nights, loneliness and loss, accompanied by waves of fear, worry, anger and hopelessness continue to haunt my daily existance with little mercy since that day 2 years ago when they strapped her to a stretcher and removed her from her home, her life, and my life until she's either dead or destitute!
APS, the guardian, her attorneys, the judge, and the care home owner have colluded to keep her prisoner for life. Why? Because she saved for her golden years and to cover up her rape we reported when she was in a rehab facility being treated for a tailbone injury.
There are 4 stages of grief: Denial, Anger, Bargaining and Acceptance. I can't seem to get past the first 3 because she is still alive and I refuse to lose hope...

Children involved in juvenile court face collateral consequences from their delinquency adjudications which can prevent barriers to their future success and can cause harm to their well-being. Some of these stem from system exposure and others extend beyond the time spent under court supervision but are related to their prior court involvement and adjudication. For example, after successfully completing their dispositions, many youth face significant hardships enrolling back in school, finding employment, or accessing ongoing treatment or health care. This episode of Spotlight on Youth focuses on the intersection of collateral consequences for youth who are court involved. Guests join this episode to discuss what is being done on both policy and practice levels to reduce and eliminate the problem. Guests
Elissa Johnson, Staff Attorney, Southern Poverty Law Center
Dr. Ashley Nellis, Senior Research Analyst, The Sentencing Project
Lisa H. Thurau, Founder and Executive Director, Strategies for Youth

Hosted by criminal defense lawyer Elizabeth Kelley, AuthorChats features in-depth interviews with writers about their recent works. In this episode, she talks with Bernard B. Kerik, former New York City Police Commissioner, about his book From Jailer to Jailed: My Journey from Correction and Police Commissioner to Inmate #84888-054. Mr. Kerik recounts as career in law enforcement through his nomination as President George W. Bush's Secretary of Homeland Security, to his indictment and incarceration. The book discusses the deficiencies of our criminal justice system including the barbarity of prison conditions and labyrinth of collateral consequences inmates confront once they are released. http://www.elizabethkelleylaw.com.
We focus on drone technology, looking at the relationship between language and law. A range of speakers explain how the framing of the War On Terror has served the US military's purposes, and note that the US keeps details of its pretexts for state sponsored assassinations by drone as vague as possible. Plausible deniability is only needed if people are in a position where their actions are subject to informed questions. The core of this week's show is made up with a set of speeches from a 2015 meeting about the use of drone warfare, introduced by Bruce Gagnon and augmented by SAS whistleblower, Ben Griffin and a few classic words of Chris Hedges on how war affects its participants.

Notes: We begin with a call by Bruce Gagnon in October 2014 to repurpose the US arms production capacity. After a musical break, we hear the start of Chris Hedges classic speech (from episode 227), followed by SAS whistleblower, Ben Griffin, commenting on the infamous Collateral Murder video leaked by Chelsea Manning.
Music: In Search of Enemies by Clan Dyken
On this week's episode, we are going to discuss the lingering issue of the infamous DeBeers Code. Many will wonder as to what exactly this term means yet know that many of us are FAR too familiar with this and many of this subject's lingering issues. Still not sure? Hint: Many have been effected by the collateral damage created by the mutual misuse of highly unrealistic expectations. Still clueless? Come kick it with us this Sunday and learn for yourself...

Patrice Johnson is the owner/principal of Virtual Illustrations, a design consultancy located in Charlotte NC. For the last 14 years, Patrice has used the power of design to develop inspiring creations for clients ranging from small start-ups to Fortune 500 companies. The company specializes in logo development and publication design; but also offers branding, e-marketing, advertising, print collateral, simple website design...and virtually anything else creative that you can think of.
Patrice always had an eye for all things creative - whether it be plating a dish, decorating a home or graphic design. She worked at Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools for 13 years and initially began doing graphic design as an extension of her work there - producing marketing materials for training sessions, etc. She was soon approached by a co-worker who suggested she consider doing graphic design as a business. After giving it some thought, Patrice gave it a try on a part time basis. Later, she went on to open the business full time, after leaving the school system as a process manager in the Superintendent's office in 2005.
Peace and Blessings,
This evening on the Porch we will discuss how predictive programing and an ever ready Boule' class play roles in creating apologetic, sympathetic, and forgiving Negroes that stagnates any ground we make in racial politics. We're going to talk about how that creates the climate for the ongoing condition of our community. We're going to dive into recent events such as the apology of Levi Pettit, president of Oklahoma University's Sigma Alpha Epsilon who was recently recorded singing a bigotted song about lynching Black people as he was escorted to the news conference by State Senator Anastasia Pittman and a hoard of other forgiving blacks and look at the history of such behavior and the collateral damage that does to the progression of Black liberation.
So,make sure that you tune in and if you feel strong enough about it call in! So, make sure that you tune in to this week's episode of From the Front Porch with Professor Carl Tone Jones on The Initiative Radio Network at (914) 803-4571 at 6:30pm Est Friday evening.
