Deirdre Barrett, Ph.D. is a psychologist on the faculty of Harvard Medical School’s Behavioral Medicine Program. She is the Past President of both the International Association for the Study of Dreams and the American Psychological Association’s Div. 30, The Society for Psychological Hypnosis. Dr. Barrett has written four books including Supernormal Stimui (Norton, 2010), and The Committee of Sleep (Random House, 2001/paper 2010). She is the editor of four additional books, The New Science of Dreaming(Praeger/Greenwood, 2007) and Trauma and Dreams (Harvard University Press, 1996). When we battle or struggle with Sin, no matter what it is we often conceed and say "the devil made me do it". It really is sort of an easy way out. Satan is after all the great deceiver and master manipulator who's goal is to drag away and entice every follower of Christ and lead them to doom and destruction. It's really our faith that's truly being tested. And so it comes down to our desires. The things we watch on TV, internet, what we choose to meditate on or lust after....is on us. Its our desires that get us in trouble, but thank God we can choose to think holy, righteous and pure thoughts. In order to do this we must get to the root of the problem.
If there is an argument against god, it is the problem of evil. Even believers admit this is the strongest argument against god, so that must be so. If it is, why hasn't it convinced all the believers?
Let's talk about the answers to the problem of evil and why I think they fail. This is counter apologetics - why I snort and retort!

Qualitative research is like completing a complex puzzle in which you put all the pieces together to create a picture. However, qualitative research is unique as a puzzle in that the researcher must first collect and analyze the puzzle pieces before putting the picture together. Join me and Dr. Paula Dawidowicz, Research Coordinator for the Ph.D. in Education Program at Walden University, as we discuss some of the ”puzzle pieces" of qualitative research that challenge novice researchers. Research problems vs. social problems, writing researchable questions, alignment of problem, purpose and questions, choosing appropriate methods, using theory effectively, conceptual frameworks versus theoretical frameworks, data collection techniques, data analysis and interpretation, and writing up findings are all topics for discussion in this show. Graduated from Yale Law School in where his paper “Solving the Puzzle of Enemy Combatant Status” won Yale’s Judge William E. Miller Prize for best paper on the Bill of Rights. He assisted teaching U.S. military history at Yale’s History Department, was a Yale Research Scholar, and is now writing a book on the dangers of applying the laws of war to the American people.
Stewart was invited to speak at Stanford University on unlawful enemy combatant status, and teaches classes on the Constitution and Bill of Rights. He currently writes articles on the Bill of Rights for S.W.A.T. Magazine, and has written for The Warrior, the journal of Gerry Spence’s Trial Lawyer’s College; for www.moreliberty.org; and for Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership, and for his own Dirt Rhodes Scholar blog
