Ep19 - Russ Steele
Russ is a veteran musician of some 40 years. During that time, he has been privileged to work with some of the areas top bands and musicians, including local favorites such as "Coyote", "Sawbuck", City Star "Mixed Nuts", "Boot Camp", "Stranger", and the popular show band "Axis", and is currently performing w/ one of the areas best Blues Rock Bands, "Pulp Fiction." Russ spent 5 years working, touring and recording with legendary rocker, Dion Dimucci, and has enjoyed writing and performance credits along with Dion on his albums "Return of the Wanderer" and "Fire in the Night". He has performed in most all of the popular night clubs and restaurants in the area and has appeared on stage with Dion at venues throughout the country, including "The Bottom Line" in NYC, The Whiskey in L.A., the "CBS Music Convention", Playboy Clubs Inc., and major hotels and casinos in Las Vegas and Atlantic City. Russ has appeared in major promotional videos with Dion for CBS and LifeSong Records, and countless live and recorded TV and radio programs. He has also shared the stage with the likes of Bruce Springsteen & Little Stephen of The E Street Band, Carlos Santana, Meatloaf, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Joe Walsh of the Eagles, & Mr. Tom Jones Russ also performs a Solo act. Join us as we listen to some of Russ' great music, and talk with him about his career in the music biz. This will also be a landmark episode for us, because it will be our first live simulcast, you can hear the show on Blogtalk, and we'll be broadcasting on a Google+ Hangout stream, so you can see what goes on behind the scenes, live. They will kick off the Friday Night At The Ritz concerts on June 21st, 2013 with a fantastic lineup of musicians. The shows are sponsored by The Ritz on Main and College Underground Radio network. The June show features three acts, Smashbox Symphony, King Friday, and Jett Prescott.
We've scored a hat-trick and will be presenting segments on each of the great acts on the bill. Jett Prescott has agreed to appear, as have Joe Macre from King Friday and John West of Smashbox Symphony. We'll talk with each of these gentlemen and hear some of the music of each of these artists.
