Roberta met Monique Pool at the Climate Leaders Training in August 2012. Monique, from Suriname has turned her home into the Green Heritage Fund Suriname, a sloth sanctuary.The non-profit organization was established in October 2005 inspired by Wangari Maathai.
Adopt a sloth - On average Monique's group receives one sloth per week, help them to continue doing this important work by adopting a sloth.

Today Dr. Karen Holl will be our guest. Dr. Holl is a leader in restoration ecology. She has been at the faculty in the Environmental Studies Dept. at the University of California, Santa Cruz for over 10 years and is presently chair of the department Dr. Holl directs a large-scale restoration experiments in collaboration with land managers and farmers in the forests of Costa Rica and along the Sacramento River in California. On top of that she is co-director of the Center for Tropical Research on Ecology, Agriculture and Development.
Today we are also featuring some new tunes by Sharmac Bappa T Blake from May Pen, Jamaica. Great sounds from a new, upcoming artist.
