There are buzz words that get thrown around a lot when it comes to healthy living. Lately Clean Eating has been one of them. It's acutally one of the most sensible terms, representing a great idea- keeping food simple and healthy. For me clean eating is vegan, but clean eating doesn't mean any particular diet or style. Join me as I break down clean eating and ways you can eat cleaner.
Talk about natural bodybuilding and if clean eating is beneficial when trying to gain (fats like whole eggs, milk not being considered clean and that's something most would incorporate in their nutrition plan) Clean...do you have to eat organic? No

Wednesday, it’s a show all about busting the biggest myth of all in the world of DDPYOGA: that clean eating equates to unaffordability. Robert, Stacey, and Mike concur that the most frequent excuse by far they hear from new members is that they can’t eat clean because it’s too expensive. And while eating gluten and dairy-free may not be the cheapest route to go, who says you have to choose processed and prepackaged food? There are plenty of affordable options such as bulk produce, baking mixes instead of premade baked goods, lentils, and inexpensive carbs such as rice, potatoes, and corn.
To prove our point, we welcome special guest, Team DDPYOGA member Jodi Verdi, who’ll talk in detail about how she shops and cooks clean for her entire family – and saves money in the process! It involves strategizing and planning, but she says it can be done.
The soul of clean eating is consuming food in its most natural state, or as close to it as possible. It is not a diet; it’s a lifestyle approach to food and its preparation, leading to an improved life – one meal at a time. Eat five to six times a day Three meals and two to three small snacks. Include a lean protein, plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables, and a complex carbohydrate with each meal. This keeps your body energized and burning calories efficiently all day long.
This segment features an interview with author and nutritional consultant Jared Koch from Clean Plates. Koch has developed a phone app and guides that helps you find "clean" food in New York and Los Angeles, with plans to create similar resources for other American cities. Clean Plates goes beyond healthy eating and identifies restaurants that are sustainably sourced as well. As Summer is in full swing and many of us are traveling to the Coasts, you may want to pick up a copy or app to help you eat out with your health and the health of the planet in mind.
