She audited for the Dept. of Labor and Veteran's Administration Offices of Inspector General, served in the U.S. Army Reserve (Transit Control Unit and Criminal Investigation Division) and recently retired as a background investigator.
Patti lives in Vista, CA with her husband and has three granddaughters. She serves as a Regional Coordinator for the Silent No More Awareness Campaign, Co-leads Rachel's Hope After-Abortion Healing Retreats and sings in her parish choir.
Her writing includes devotionals, light romance and suspense, and her strong faith is reflected in each genre.

She is the editor and publisher of Tumbleweeds, an award-winning quarterly newspaper for families, based in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Her work has appeared in local and national publications and online. For five years she wrote the popular "Family Cafe" column for the Santa Fe New Mexican. So her new memoir, "FAREWELL, ALEPPO: My Father, My People, and Their Long Journey Home," the story of her father and the close-knit community of Syrian Jews that her family came from, was an extension of that interest. In part a labor of love, the book is as well as a tribute to Aleppo, Syria's intriguing Jewish community, whose history extends back thousands of years but which has now left Syria and relocated in cities around the world. Claudette and her husband live in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and have one son.

How Can We Empower Oppressed Women To Help Themselves?

    in Women

In some cultures, marriage means a man's ownership of a woman's body. This belief leads to culturally accepted abuse of women, often under the guise of religion, and when abuse of women becomes an accepted part of a culture, it is difficult for women to break free of a cycle of bondage. Today, two women share their work within the Muslim community that that has helped break down barriers and provide solutions for women seeking relief from domestic violence, sexual abuse and family abandonment. Sister Claudette Muhammad, author of the book Memories, shares the wisdom she acquired through her extensive life experience. Sister Khadijah Dawah discusses her work in providing homes for homeless Muslim women.
