Blakely Bennett joins the CL Gammon Show for a Visit

    in Books

Blakely Bennett joins CL Gammon for a visit. Blakely Bennett grew up in Southeast Florida and has been residing in the great Northwest for over nine years. She graduated from Nova Southeastern University with a degree in psychology, which accounts for her particular interest in crafting the personalities, struggles, and motivations of her characters. She is an avid reader of many genres of fiction, but especially enjoys erotica and romance. Writing has always been her bliss. Blakely is married to a wonderful, loving, and supportive husband, who is also a writer, and who helps to keep her grounded. She is a mother, a communitarian, a lover of music (it is always on while she is writing thanks to Pandora), and a good friend. An advocate of love and female empowerment, she is also a facilitator for a women's group. She loves to walk and hike for exercise, and finds that, since moving to Seattle, Washington, she is now one of those crazy people who walk in the rain. Bittersweet Deceit is her sixth novel and the second book in the Bound by Your Love Series. Stuck in Between is the first. She is also the author of the dark erotic suspense My Body Trilogy (My Body-His, My Body-His (Marcello) and My Body-Mine) and the co-author of the contemporary romance, The Demarcation of Jack which she wrote with her husband, Dana Bennett.

    TRUMPETER GREG ADAMS

    in Entertainment

Trumpeter Greg Adams and his band East Bay Soul are back with what should be a smash album for them called That’s Life, as they harness some of that ol’ Greg Adams CD Tower of Power feel (like that found on the lead track “Little Black Dress”) as well as some other creative presentations.

Eclecticism, innovativeness, soul, and a full-blown commitment to excellence – this is the stuff great albums must include as ingredients for success. Adams and his band have sailed this one out of the park, in my opinion. Give it a good listen. – Ronald Jackson, The Smooth Jazz Ride.

    in Books

Cathy Scott joins us on the CL Gammon Show. Cathy Scott is a tour de force in true crime as a Los Angeles Times bestselling author and an award-winning investigative journalist. She attracted international acclaim for her classic true-crime biographies, The Killing of Tupac Shakur and The Murder of Biggie Smalls. Her eighth book, The Millionaire's Wife, was released March 27, 2012. by St. Martin's Press about the 1990 contract murder of George Kogan on an Upper East Side Manhattan street in broad daylight. Fast-forward nearly 20 years, and Barbara Kogan, George's estranged wife, admitted to hiring a hit man to have her husband gunned down. Her ninth book - Murder in Beverly Hills (the re-release and update of Murder of a Mafia Daughter) - was published in November 2013 about the unsolved murder of writer Susan Berman. The book includes exclusive information from investigators and new information about their prime suspect. A memoir of a former drug kingpin, Freeway Rick Ross: The Untold Autobiography, which Cathy co-wrote with Ross, was released in June 2014 to a standing-room audience at its Los Angeles launch. Her latest project is the Dawn Viens case. Dawn, 37, disappeared on Oct. 18, 2010, after leaving Thyme Contemporary Cafe, in Lomita, California, that she and her husband ran. David Viens told police that he and his wife had argued. She didn't take her cell phone or stash of cash, and her car was later towed as evidence when she did not return. The husband, after throwing himself off a cliff -- and surviving -- admitted to killing his wife but has not told police where Dawn's body is.
