Pope Francis and members of congress are narcissists

    in Music

I call the ability to hear both oneself and others bilateral (2-sided) listening.  Narcissistic listening is one-way, listening to myself only, listening.    When differences arise, folks who do bilateral listening are pros at taking into consideration both their concerns and others'.  This bilateral listening ability enables them to routinely seek and create win-win solutions, which in turn sustains their relationships with on-going goodwill.  For instance, if you are tired, you would listen to that feeling and head for bed.  At the same time if you have just received a call from a friend who has a problem and urgently wants to talk with you, you might suggest that the two of you talk for a few minutes now, and aim to talk more at length in the morning.  Or with a more gentle, "Yes I hear that you want to talkbut I'm just too tired.  In the latter case you seemed to be hearing your friend's request, and then your but minimized, dismissed and discarded the data about the friend's need.   Narcissistic folks can be generous.  Narcissistic folks actually are often very generous.  They may, for instance, give away large sums of money to charity.  Generous giving makes the giver feel good and also feels appropriate, like "the right" thing to do.  They may well therefore pride themselves on their compassion and altruism. Often too, selfish-takeover ignites tendency to war

I Have A Dream for Congress and the Rest of 'Em

While our kings and queens sit on their thrones in judgement of us all, I retreat into my mind and smile as I recount a favorite dream where the people call them out and the thrones get hot.

Insurance Policyholder needs help from 2016 Congress

    in Podcasting

In the beginning, Congress supported the interest of Insurance Policyholders through ERSIA Legislation. The Department of Labor (which helps oversee enforcement) defines ERISA Legislation as, "The Employee Retirement Income Security Act or ERISA is a Federal law that sets standards of protection for individuals in most voluntarily established, private-sector retirement plans."  This includes benefits such as Short-Term and Long-Term Disability and Life Insurance Plans.

Having trouble getting your benefits from Employer or Insurance Companies after twenty-four months? In my opinion, too many insured claims are thrown under the bus after two years.  How much is your Insurance Plan worth in times of hardships?

STATEMENT OF THE RWANDA NATIONAL CONGRESS (RNC) ON RWANDA’S CONSTITUTIONAL

    in Politics Progressive

STATEMENT OF THE RWANDA NATIONAL CONGRESS (RNC) ON RWANDA’S CONSTITUTIONAL REFERENDUM

The Political Bureau of the Rwanda National Congress met on 20th December, 2015, to review its achievements and challenges as it celebrates its fifth anniversary since its founding on 12th December, 2010.

Notably, the RNC Political Bureau meeting takes place at a time when Rwanda has just concluded a sham constitutional referendum (announced just one week in advance) that paves the way for President Paul Kagame to serve as President for life. President Paul Kagame has been de facto President of Rwanda since July 1994.

During his 21 year rule, President Kagame has turned the state of Rwanda into a personal fiefdom. Rwanda has the trappings, but none of the substance, of a democratic government. Rwanda’s president enjoys unbridled power. The president rules with the assistance of a small clique of military officers and a few civilians connected, often, by family relations and business links. The same group controls the judiciary and the economy of the country. President Kagame, through his control of the enterprises that enjoy a monopoly of business with the government and most lucrative licences, has amassed a personal fortune worth billions of dollars.
