Wife, mom, singer, songwriter, actress, and philanthropist Chynna Phillips was born to musicians John and Michelle Phillips of famed 60's group The Mamas and The Papas. Chynna began her acting career in John Hughes' teen-sensation Some Kind of Wonderful. She followed up with roles in Caddyshack II, Say Anything, and also played the character Roxanne Pulitzer in the 1989 TV biopic Roxanne: The Prize Pulitzer. During this time, Chynna, along with childhood friends Carnie & Wendy Wilson, formed the trio Wilson Phillips. In 1990, the group released their self-titled debut album which went on to sell ten million copies worldwide, went multi-platinum, and had three number one singles. In 1992, Billboard declared them the best selling female group of all time, breaking the record previously held by Motown's The Supremes. Wilson Phillips was nominated for 5 Grammy Awards, an American Music Award, and won a Billboard Music Award (for songs "Hold On" and "Release Me", which were also written by Phillips). She drops by to chat on Tuesday, January 22, at 7pm EST, to discuss her latest project & tour.
Chynna Phillips, 90's pop music icon, is the only child of musicians, John and Michelle Phillips, of the famed "The Mamas and The Papas" group. In the late 1980's, Chynna, and childhood friends, Carnie and Wendy Wilson ("Beach Boys" Brian Wilson's daughters), formed "Wilson Phillips," and in 1990, released their debut album. "Wilson Phillips" sold ten million copies worldwide, went to multiplatinum, and charted three Billboard Top 100 #1 singles, prompting Billboard's declaring them the best selling female group of all time, breaking the record previously held by "The Supremes." "Wilson Phillips" was nominated for 5 Grammy Awards, an American Music Award, and won Billboard Music Awards for "Hold On" and "Release Me," both written by Chynna Phillips. Recently Wilson Phillips was featured in the hit movie, "Bridesmaids," and Chynna participated in the ABC hit, "Dancing With The Stars," while recording songs for the groups new album, "Dedicated," featuring a collection of songs written and made famous by their musical parents of "The Beach Boys" and "The Mamas and The Papas." within 12 hours of the release, it shot up to #5 on Amazon's Best Seller's Music List. This month, "Wilson Phillips: Still Holding On" debuted on the TV Guide channel. The reality show features Carnie, Wendy, and Chynna, 25 years after their first single hit #1 on the charts. Now working moms, the cameras follow the three as they struggle to balance their musical pursuits, lifelong friendships, and family lives. Chynna has been married for 17 years to actor William (Billy) Baldwin.
Taylor "Gator" Phillips and Ed Smith break down the Tigers trading Ian Krol and Gabe Speier to the Atlanta Braves for Cameron Maybin, which means Rajai Davis is likely gone. We'd also like to note that the "Tigers sign Zach Greinke" article is a fake article, which means it didn't happen. The Tigers also hired Lloyd McClendon as the AAA Toledo Mud Hens manager.
We also touch on the Lions hiring Rod Wood as president, announcing their relocation on radio to 760 (am) WJR, and winning 18-13 over the Oakland Raiders at Ford Field, which pretty much ruins their chances at getting the first overall pick of the 2016 NFL Draft, which still stands to be Ole Miss Rebels junior defensive end Robert Nkemdiche.
Moving over to college football, the #9 Michigan State Spartans upset the #3 Ohio State Buckeyes 17-14 at The Horseshoe, and the Michigan Wolverines pull away with a 28-16 win over the Penn State Nittany Lions at Happy Valley.
In college basketball, the Wolverines fell flat against the Xavier Musketeers 86-70 AT HOME, while the Michigan State Spartans blast through Arkansas Pine Bluff 92-46 and took care of the Eastern Michigan Eagles 89-65.
The Pistons beat the Timberwolves 96-86 at Target Center but give one away to the Washington Wizards 97-95 at the Palace of Auburn Hills. They also got destroyed by the Milwaukee Bucks 109-88 on the road.
The Red Wings hang on in regulation to beat the Los Angeles Kings 3-2 but give up another late third-period game-tying goal and still beat the St. Louis Blues 4-3 in overtime at Scottrade Center. Plus, former Red Wing Landon Ferraro was claimed off waivers by the Boston Bruins.

We love mysteries. They appeal to some of the most basic aspects of our psyche - problem solving, trial and error, and logic. And while we strive to solve all mysteries known to us, there are some instances where we are not satisfied with the answer, instead digging deeper to try to find what we think to be the truth, unsatisfied until we get confirmation of our beliefs.
This week on One Cell One Light Radio, Dr. Hildy welcomes T. Matthew Phillips, trial attorney, and theorist of the truth behind one of the greatest mysteries of modern times - the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in Dallas, Texas on November 22, 1963.
