Have you ever wondered just how important sleep is? How sleep plays a role in everything that we do? Our internal clocks are governed by seasonal variations in light and dark; extending daylight artificially leads to a craving for sugar, especially concentrated, refined carbohydrates that, in turn, cause obesity. More seriously, lack of sleep inhibits the production of prolactin and melatonin—deranging our immune systems and causing depression, diabetes, heart disease, and cancer. Tune in this week as the author of Lights Out TS Wiley joins me to share with you everything you need to know about sleep. How to and why to.
GUEST BIO: sleep
T.S. Wiley is the author of "Lights Out: Sleep, Sugar and Survival, ". Wiley succinctly and logically argues that electricity and the light bulb put us out of sync with nature as the ultimate "endocrine disruptors". People spent summers, before electric lights, sleeping less and eating heavily in preparation for winter because the light triggered the hunger for carbohydrates. Now, light is available 24 hours a day. Heating and air-conditioning climate control our hormonal responses to consume carbohydrates now available year round. This is the scenario for obesity, Type II diabetes, and depression. In Wiley's opinion, sleep is the best medicine. Her newest work in process is "Manthropology", exploring how medicine and modern life are killing men. Fear is the reason we wear masks and why many of us are only naked in the dark. Unfortunately shame is not covered under Obama care and that is the purpose or life work we are here to do while we have this time on the planet. Shame diminishes are truth telling ability, we lie to one another and we lie to ourselves. All that we do is based on either love or fear. Shame is fear and the more we are able to combat the fear that lives inside of us, the more opportunity we have to be motivated by love. Love is Freedom from judgment and shame and concealing our most vulnerable selves or what we see as imperfections is one of the many ways we have learned to navigate this dog eat dog world but it doesn’t have to be that way. We can live in fear live in our shame and remain hidden in the dark and never make love with the lights on. Or we can make a personal commitment to work on our own fear and shame, combat it with love and acceptance wear a little less of the mask each day stepping out of the dark and closer to the light until we feel the Sun shining on our full selves reflecting the essence of our truth to the world.
Join us on Sunday, July 20th at 1pm EST, as we discuss removing the shame in our lives to fully disclosing who we really are in this world. Would love to have you a part of this dialogue, so call (646) 915-9198 to chat with the co-hosts.

in The Bible
This title is take from the very popular Monday Football segment when Dandy Don Meredith, would sing “Turn out the lights, the party’s over.” He sang it when the game was no longer in doubt. It was fun times for MNF with the trio of Howard Cosell, Frank Gifford and Don Meredith. Part of the title is taken from verse 23, “And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee...” There is coming a day when the One who is the Light of the world, will turn out the lights of the world. The code name that is used here for the world is “Babylon.”
In Biblical thought, Babylon represents several things: It represents a Place. The city of Babylon is mentioned more than 260 times in the Bible; more than any other city with the exception of Jerusalem. It represents a Power. The city of Babylon was the headquarters of one of the greatest kings who ever lived, Nebuchadnezzar. It represents a Philosophy. The first mention of Babel is found in Genesis 11. It was man’s first attempt to establish a kingdom, a state, a religion, a way of life and thought that totally excluded God. Babylon is a picture of the spiritual, moral, intellectual and philosophical rebellion of this world against God since the beginning of time. Nimrod, the ruler of the first Babylon, is a picture, of the antichrist who will rule over the last Babylon.
In Revelation 17 we witnessed the fall of spiritual Babylon. Here in Revelation 18 we see the fall of political and economical Babylon. The Bible teaches that in the last days the economical and political sub-structure that holds this world together, will fall like a house of cards.
