As pet owners we are often concerned about what and how we can train our pets. But the truth is that pets often teach us. As a parent educator (and pet grief coach) I use animals to teach families how to relate to one another in daily life.
Today's show will be about some of the life skills we can learn from animals. Here are just some we will discuss;
To have unconditional love for others.
To be non-judgemental about race, gender, religion or nationality
To protect our loved ones
To be aware of other's feelings and show empathy and comfort
To show loyalty for family
To trust your instincts
To live in the moment--don't hold grudges
To keep our needs simple
To hide a little something away for a rainy day
To include excercise and naps in everyday.
You are invited to call in during the show or to leave comments that may be used in an up-coming book on Animal-Human Connection. Thanks for being part of our community of kind, thoughtful people who want respect for all.

Some years ago, when I was a Lieutenant with Orange County Animal Control, I was asked to train deputy sheriff recruits in the area of dealing with protective animals at crime scenes or other emergency locations. This came about after a beloved family pet was shot and killed by deputies who had responded to a burglary-in-process call at a residence. That event made it painfully clear that many law-enforcement personnel had little to no training in dealing with protective animals and resorted to immediate lethal force when confronted with a family pet. Of course, one of the best bits of information all emergency personnel can use before they arrive to the scene of an emergency is whether or not a pet is there. And thanks to Smart911, a new service for pet owners, this information is being made available to emergency response agencies. Jessica Rose from RAVE mobile Safety will be by shortly to tell us about all the details. Then after our halftime break, Ashley Cunningham, the president and founder of Barks of Love Animal Rescue will be checking in to talk about all the latest news from her organization and tails with happy endings.
Join us for today's broadcast for a discussion of Romans 8, the redemption of the body and the adoption. Romans 8 is a pivotal chapter in the discussion of the resurrection and has some very important insights that involves the adoption. What is the adoption, who's being adopted and why, and when?
Our goal is to seek out the meaning from a Biblical perspective, using the Scripture to interpret Scripture. Several texts provide information to be considered from Romans 8 and 9, and also the third and fourth chapters of Galatians.
While many believe the redemption of the body is all about man's biologial substance, Paul argues from a different point of view focusing on the stance or relationship of man. This is very evident from both Romans and Galatians.
We will also be addressing the already but not yet to explain why there is tension between what is, and what isn't from the historical perspective of the text.
