Because Jamie Oliver’s food programs originated in England, the question is, are kids there now choosing to eat healthier foods? If not, what is turning kids on to better-for- you meals there? Or, are they eating them at all? What about the school lunch programs – have they improved? Or, are moms in the United Kingdom dealing with the same struggles of how to feed kids as we do in the United States? Our guest, Katharine Tate, known as “The Food Teacher,” is a qualified teacher, nutritional therapist and “mum” who has worked with children in schools located in the UK, New Zealand and Hong Kong. She’ll tell us about food programs that do work, such as educating parents, “Cookery Schools” and inspirational Head Teachers. Judging from her recipes and family health tips, Katharine is innovative while focusing on nutrition, well-being and fresh and flavor-filled recipes that appeal to the whole family. These include: Citrus Mango Coco Bites (dairy free), Cinnamon Apple & Vanilla Cashew Cream (Dairy Free), Cauliflower Rice, gluten free/no added sugar chocolate brownies, Tomato & Lentil Soup (winter is coming), Parsnip Hummus… just a few of her treasure chest of delicious healthy ones kids will eat!
Come into our Family Food Experts Kitchen with Katharine, Carolina and me as we take you on a trip to England for some great food ideas for kids! Thursday, 1pm ET, on W4WN.com and W4CY.com.
Wait until you hear what our guest Board Certified Neurologist, Dr. David Perlmutter, author of the #1 New York Times bestseller Grain Brain, has to say about what foods will and won’t positively affect your brain health. You may have heard the controversy resulting from his declaration that wheat, sugar and carbs have devastating effects on brain function. He further turned upside down the perception that eating foods such as butter (yes, butter), coconut oil, beef, and other sources of good fats are a “no no.” In fact, he says, Yes, they are right foods – all are important for your brain’s short and long term health. In just a few minutes, we are going to find out why fats, not carbs, are essential for mental sharpness! And, we’ll ask Dr. Perlmutter to share some of the 150 delicious nutritious recipes found in Dr. Perlmutter’s newly released The Grain Brain Cookbook. A few caught my eye: Eggs Benedict with Zucchini Pancakes, Almond Crusted Chicken Strips, Grilled Parmesan Tomatoes, Grilled Spiced Flank Steak, and Lemon Souffle Pudding!
Stay with us in our Family Food Experts Kitchen to learn how to make smart brain food choices!

Curate and Crowd Source - two power practices you can use right now to add value to your customers. The digital era has brought a slew of tools that you can use to make your mark no matter what profession you are in. Maureen Ennis will join us to discuss how to add these two practices to your toolkit today.
In the late 1960's, All American, restaurateur and millionaire. Jim Baker underwent a transformation of the most profound and sublime kind. War hero, judo master, and even killer, Baker started hanging with Yogi Bhajan in the hills surroundng LA. During that time, Jim Baker died and Father Yod emerged. He looked like a cross between Moses and Ray Nietschke. He had the face of a prophet and the body of a linebacker. Father Yod opened the immensely popular Source Restaurant, the country's most successful natural food restaurant. Steve McQueen, John and Yoko, Joni, Goldie Hawn, they all hung out at The Source.
Out of The Source Restaurant, Father Yod began to assemble a family of beautiful, young, men and women. They became "The Aquarian Family" and lived in a great big home that used to belong to the Chandler family (LA Times) where they would ecstatically partake in every moment of every day, They were part of the emerging spiritual wave of the late 60's.
Music, meditation, diet, sex, studay and prayer became a 24/7 event for the family. They were tuned up and turned on by their loving father, who eventually assembled 14 wives. In 1972, the family left LA for Hawaii and in 1975, Father Yod left the body, but his legacy lives on. Isis Aquarian and Electricity Aquarian are still keeping the Source flame burning. Isis in particular, since she took all the photos, films and recodings for the family events. I spent an hour with them, recounting their history, Father Yod and the legacy of Source Family.
In the second hour of the show, we'll catch up with another vsiionary, our friend, Les Visible and get the latest from the heart and mind of one of the great scribes of our time. Join us.

Think of exercise as a fun or well-deserved break and you'll eat less afterward. Remove the tray from your cafeteria and you'll also remove the salad from your employees' lunch. Which foods you put first in your buffet line dictate what foods are taken.
