Doc2BBerry on Stand By Me
Stand by Me is a movie that touches on some of the most important aspects of life: Friendship, loyalty, integrity, childhood, family, and death. Here's a trailer to remind you of the first time you saw it, or to remind you to see it! http://www.imdb.com/video/imdb/vi3398631705/ You can watch the movie on Turner Classic Movies (TCM) on Saturday May 11th, 2013 from 9:30PM -11:15 PM PDT (West coast) plan accordingly. If you miss that or want to watch it now Youtube.com has a six-part version you can catch anytime before next Friday: here is the link:
Part 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FrRbJezTOR4
Follow the link to the other parts once you are there. They are not HD versions, but all parts work. Childhood is a great topic psychologically because it sets the foundation for the rest of our lives. Most of us can remember at least one from childhood (and that is an immense understatement!), that we will never forget or still affects us. Maybe it was a fight your parents had, or your first kiss, fumble or "all the way!" It could be anything even the first time you received an "A" in class; everything seems to matter more in childhood. That probably has more to do with the fact we are so inexperienced as children and childhood is all abut "first times." Do you have a childhood friend that you'll never forget or possibly a bully from your past? Do you still know them? Are they still alive? How about family, were you an oldest, middle, youngest, or only child? Much is made about birth order and it is psychologically supported. This is a movie we can all appreciate; it speaks to all of us. Remember "good films evoke strong emotions!" -Doc2BBerry
