Kate Boyer, MA, author, speaker and shamanic practitioner discusses working out old family patterns and will take questions from callers. (646) 595-2411
Kate's master's degree is in counseling psychology. She is versed in the methodology of ACOA (Adult Children of Alcoholics) and has studied spiritual traditions ranging from Lakota Sioux sweat lodges to kundalini yoga. And yet mostly she has learned much within the context of family; being a parent, daughter, wife, sister, grandmother, an elder.
Katherine's new book, Mending the Net, outlines methods to heal self and family of old dysfunctions and create new healthy patterns.
“When the universe sends you a miracle, and then asks you to surrender to the journey that is about to unfold, you have two choices. You can politely say thanks-but no-thanks, or you can commit your heart and soul to doing something entirely on faith... Breathing Fire, began as a book for others who, like author Chris Davis, had survived childhood abuse, but it quickly transformed into a modern-day fairy tale.
As women, we need to talk openly about topics that have been kept in locked boxes on the shelf. There is no need to feel shame for something that happened that we had no control over. I support courageous women like Chris who not only survive, but empower others to transform their lives to be happy.
Childhood obesity is a serious medical condition that affects children and adolescents. It occurs when a child is well above the normal weight for his or her age and height.
Childhood obesity is particularly troubling because the extra pounds often start children on the path to health problems that were once confined to adults, such as diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. Childhood obesity can also lead to poor self-esteem and depression.
One of the best strategies to reduce childhood obesity is to improve the diet and exercise habits of your entire family. Treating and preventing childhood obesity helps protect the health of your child now and in the future.
Not all children carrying extra pounds are overweight or obese. Some children have larger than average body frames. And children normally carry different amounts of body fat at the various stages of development. So you might not know just by looking at your child if his or her weight is a health concern.
Your child's doctor can help you figure out if your child's weight could pose health problems using growth charts and, if necessary, other tests.
When to see a doctor
If you're worried that your child is putting on too much weight, talk to his or her doctor. Your child's doctor will consider your child's individual history of growth and development, your family's weight-for-height history, and where your child lands on the growth charts. This can help determine if your child's weight is in an unhealthy range.
Macrocosm and microcosm is an ancient Greek Neo-Platonic schema of seeing the same patterns reproduced in all levels of the cosmos, from the largest scale (macrocosm or universe-level) all the way down to the smallest scale (microcosm or sub-sub-atomic or even metaphysical-level). A microcosm a community, place, or situation regarded as encapsulating in miniature the characteristic qualities or features of something much larger. Perhaps, the pattern of an electron rotating around a nucleus is similiar to the pattern of a planet rotating around a star. Fractals can be found in trees. The branches of a tree grow with a repeating kind of pattern. A fractal is a natural phenomenon or a mathematical set that exhibits a repeating pattern that displays at every scale. Scientists use their understanding of fractals to determine the amount of carbon dioxide a tree might be able to take in by looking at one of its leaves. A forest is said to have a structure just as an individual branches on a single tree have a structure. The relative number of large and small trees matches the relative number of large and small branches on a tree. A single tree in a forest can be used to determine how much carbon dioxide a forest might intake.

VIBRATIONAL PATTERNS are simply thoughts or frequencies that are held in place.
(BRING EVERY THOUGHT INTO CAPITIVITY)
To create what you want in your life, (WHAT GOD WANTS IN YOUR LIFE) you must shift your vibrational pattern such that you’re emitting a signal that’s vibrationally compatible with your God given destiny.
You can identify that new vibration by vividly visualizing your goals until you feel different emotions, and those emotions stabilize at a certain point. Notice how your vibrational inner being feels, not just emotionally but energetically. Then return to your old state, and notice the vibrational difference between the two states. Compare and contrast the old vibration with the new one.

All of us 'survived' our childhood. Even if you had wonderful loving parents and family, most people have emotional bumps, bruises, and/or wounds from growing up. There is usually something that each of us carries with us that was harsh or difficult in our childhood, that still affects us today. In this episode of The Organic Mind, Bonnie goes in depth into how the mind works - the conscious vs. the subconscious mind, to help begin to identify the core beliefs that shape our current perception. And of course - once you identify these negative core beliefs, it is the start to shifting them, and changing your perception for the better.
