Child Abuse Prevention
Child maltreatment is an unspeakable crime. It occurs far too frequently, and its consequences have a life long effect on the victim, which are often passed along to the next generation. In observance of April’s Child Abuse Prevention month, the “Ask Dr. Annie Abram” will be devoted to this topic.
Ms. Karina Forrest-Perkins, president and CEO for Prevent Child Abuse Minnesota, will be our guest.

SISFI Interviews Mr Bo Budinsky, Child Sexual Abuse Survivor
Join Mr. Brett A. Scudder as he talks with Mr. Bo Budinsky, child sexual abuse survivor, advocate, public speaker and humanitarian, about his life living and dealing with sexual abuse and the impacts. We will talk about his non-profit org Save One Survivor and the work he is doing there. Please show Love and support for him and his work in putting an end to the sexual abouse of all children
About Mr. Budinsky.
My life has been challenging at best. I've dealt with addiction, shattered relationships, abandoned careers. I've been homeless, shot at, broken and disgusted. Only this last year have I "come out of hiding" so to speak. I have been ashamed of something and running my entire life. I never knew what it was. Now I know. I am a survivor of childhood sexual abuse and it has profoundly affected my life.
I was violated by three family members, a family friend, a neighbor, two local businessmen, a serial pedophile, a twenty-one year old women who enjoyed having a fifteen year old 'boy toy', and a psychiatrist. I began acting out and exhibiting signs when I was around ten, so this man was chosen to help me. He was a prominent member of our community as well as the church I was brought up in. He "took care" of all us young acolytes. Surely he could be trusted. He couldn’t.
I knew I was broken, troubled, and hopelessly addicted and entered recovery for that in 1976 at the age of twenty-six. My healing, spiritual journey began then. I worked diligently over the years in twelve step programs, therapy, inner child work, meditation, religion, ad infinitum. Suffice it to say that if there was anything available which I thought would be healing and enriching, I grabbed onto it. Yet I would periodically self destruct, typically when it appeared that I was doing my best.
Please join us and share the info.
Thank you Mr. Budinsky for taking the time to be our guest.

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month
Proclamation by United States President Barack Obama statements: America is a country where all of us should be able to pursue our own measure of happiness and live free from fear. But for the millions of children who have experienced abuse or neglect, it is a promise that goes tragically unfulfilled. National Child Abuse Prevention Month is a time to make their struggle our own and reaffirm a simple truth: that no matter the challenges we face, caring for our children must always be our first task.
Join us as we embrace this message through filmmaker Dana Verde's new project, "The Promise". This upcoming film is about how adults get trapped into childhood pain that we tranfer to our children. Through Indiegogo, you can be a part of the making of this film, while opening your heart and ears to your mother or major care-giver. Her fundraiser will run through Mother's Day as you will be able to share your love with someone through gifting, and pictoral celebrations.
This series will include interviews with Verde, her cast, and supports, as well as professionals and people addressing childhood suffering. This time "helpin as sista out", is really "helpin a sista out."
For more information on how you can support the development of this film, and tell your story, go to: http://danaverde.wix.com/apromisefilm....
