On this episode of Talking in Circles we break down the Tony Stewart situation and what it means for his retirement tour and we discuss who we think will take over the No. 14 Chevrolet for the begining of the season and why. We also talk about the impact it will have on NASCAR and the Daytona 500.
Also, Michael Waltrip will race for BK Racing in the No. 83 Toyota with Maxwell House as sponsor. We discuss that move and potentially a fourth BK Racing car at Daytona as well.
Also Premium Motorsports has hired Cole Whitt to drive the team's No. 98 entry for the entire 2016 season. Whitt will be on his fourth team in three years.
Kyle Larson just met his crew chief last week. We discuss whether or not that means anything for the 2016 season.
It was announced today that Matt Tifft will drive for JGR in 13 NASCAR XFINITY Series races in 2016. We'll talk about how we think he'll do.
BJ McLeod Motorsports will run a two car operation for the 2016 season with the owner driving the No. 78 Ford Mustang. The team will have a variety of drivers in the No. 99 Ford Mustang, running full-time. We'll discuss that plus Harrison Rhodes moving to Obaika Racing and that organization having a two car team.
On the truck series side of things Cameron Hayley joins a four truck effort at ThorSport Racing for 2016 and Parker Kligerman will run Daytona for RBR Enterprises and Jordan Anderson will run full-time.
Plus we still have no idea if the franchising deal will be in place for Daytona or not.
It's going to be a jammed packed 1 hour show and we take your calls at 917-889-8280.
SFTVR PresentZ: TalkingCARZ with CEO Steve Tomaszewski with special Co-Host Randi Payton CEO & Founder of Decisive Magazine and media and Special promoter of the 2017 Urban Wheels Awards in Detroit.
Join us today by calling at 1-909-202-8714 Press 1 to talk with Steve and Randi. "We Listen to YOU" Payton went on to become an editor for the Afro-American Newspapers, recognized at the time as the best of the nation’s black newspapers. He noted the absence of auto coverage in the paper and not coincidently, the paucity of car maker advertising. He attacked the first problem by starting a weekly auto column that he soon syndicated for free to 200 other minority publications. The other problem, advertising, was more complex. For years, auto advertising to minorities consisted of a person of color in a print ad that ran in a few selected publications. But, as one car company advertising director found out at the cost of his job, it did not include Harry Belafonte holding Petula Clark’shand on national television. And, that singer Lou Rawls was deemed too black to be an auto spokesman.
On this episode of Talking In Circles we break down what the Daytona 500 and what it has meant to the sport and to us as race fans, piggybacking on Larry McReynolds' article about his Daytona 500 victory.
Sprint Unlimited Drivers have been announced. We'll discuss if this race has lost any luster and what can be done to help generate more interest and NASCAR's horrible thought process that a lot of cars creates great racing.
Also Rico Abreu will be running in the Truck Series in 2016 driving the No. 98 Toyota for ThorSport Racing. He will run for Rookie of the Year and it will be interesting to see how he does. No doubt he can get it done on dirt, we'll see on asphalt. He's going to have an opportunity.
Richard Petty Motorsports has a number change for the 2016 season. Brian Scott will be No. 44 instead of No. 9 in 2016. We'll give our thoughts on that.
Ray Black Jr will move to the NASCAR XFINITY Series with SS/Greenlight Racing. No. 07 Scuba Life Chevrolet. We'll give our thoughts on that.
Love's Travel Stops will return to Front Row Motorsports with Driver Chris Buescher running 18 races for the company.
Also racing will return to Rockingham Speedway after about a two hiatus. It looked like it was going to fall again but there is talk NASCAR may return there for 2017.
Denny Hamlin's Short Track Showdown has been canceled after problems with Langley Speedway. It's swapped tracks over the years. Should racing be concerned after that?
Noted automotive journalist ALAN GELL had a week-long test-drive of a 2015 Chevrolet Impala Bi-Fuel sedan a few months ago. This car ran on CNG -- compressed natural gas. CNG is here, but not really widespread. CNG is a mixture of Biogas and methane gas.
Alan recorded a discriptive analysis of his week-long test-drive for KBPC-FM radio. It is repeated here for this segment of BlogTalk Radio. Bottom line: The car worked well and Alan looks forward to more vehicles running on CNG.

Meadowdale International Raceway is located within Raceway Woods near the corners of Route 31 and Huntley Road in the far Northwest Corner of Carpentersville, Illinois. Notable figures from the racing community who raced here include Carl Haas, Roger Penske, Bobby Unser, Al Unser, Lance Reventlow, Augie Pabst, Harry Heuer and the famous and historic Scarabs of the Meister Brauser Racing Team; Fred Lorenzen – first NASCAR driver to win $100,000 in a year; Mark Donahue, Sam Posey, Peter Revson, Jim Jeffords and the Nickey Chevrolet Racing Team, Roger Ward, Lloyd Ruby, Curtis Turner, Dan Gurney, Parnelli Jones, Ricardo Rodriguez, Tony DeLorenzo, Tony Adamawicz, Paul Goldsmith, Gary Nixon, and George Follmer as well as many others.
