    Chemotherapy Neuropathy Treatment

    in Health

Chemotherapy given for cancer–or other conditions, such as autoimmune diseases–can, unfortunately, cause nerve damage (neuropathy).
Patients may or may not develop neuropathy based on which medications they are taking. Platinum-based chemotherapies in particular will usually cause neuropathy. Patients who undergo hormone or radiation therapy in addition to chemotherapy also have a high chance of developing peripheral neuropathy.
Symptoms of chemotherapy neuropathy include tingling, numbness, and burning, usually in the hands, feet, and legs. The good news is, a neurostimulator is a drug-free alternative that can actually be used during chemotherapy. Other options light therapies such as include Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) and LED Therapy. Manual therapies such as massage and spinal and joint manipulation are also crucial. Work with your team of medical professionals to find out which combination of these work best for you.

    Metronomic Chemotherapy for Canine Cancer

    in Pets

Tune in for an informative discussion with Dr. Barbara Biller, Veterinarian and Assistant Professor of Oncology at Colorado State University Animal Cancer Center
The primary focus of Dr. Biller’s research is on the interactions between the anti-tumor immune response and metronomic chemotherapy. Recently she completed a study for Morris Animal Foundation (MAF) in which she evaluated metronomic chemotherapy treatment on dogs with soft-tissue sarcoma.
During the study, it was Dr. Biller’s mission to learn more specifics on how to treat dogs using metronomics. She says:
“Even though veterinarians have been using metronomic chemotherapy on patients, we have been guessing on important factors like what drugs we should use, what dose is needed and at what intervals we should treat the patient. We hope to determine some of those factors.”
Dr. Biller is also involved in a number of collaborative studies with investigators at the University of Colorado Cancer Center and the Garden State Cancer Center evaluating immunotherapies in dogs with lymphoma and brain tumors.

Author Rod Adkins on Write Now Radio!

    in Writing

    2pm ET / 1pm CT / 12pm MT / 11am PT

    (Outside US: Dial 00 + 1 + 714-464-4891)

    Viki Winterton interviews Rod Adkins!

Rod Adkins is a business and executive coach based in Melbourne Australia, who believes that anyone can make changes for the better in their lives and business with the influence of someone they can trust.

He became interested in investigating cancer issues after being diagnosed with skin cancer and seeing his father dying from melanoma and 2 other family members recently dying from lung cancers. He noticed that where radiation and/or chemotherapy were instigated, this potentially made the cancer worse.

From what he has researched, Rod agrees with many that the cancer cells are part of us, within us from the start, and it is either an event or our environment that causes the cells to gradually turn malignant.

    in Spirituality

The Gift of Cancer- A Miraculous Journey To Healing with author Brenda Michaels

For fourteen years, Brenda Michaels battled cancer. Then one day she surrendered to the experience and found the gift in her disease. The Gift of Cancer: A Miraculous Journey to Healing speaks to anyone on a journey of wellbeing, whether suffering from a life-threatening disease or merely desiring to live a better, more fulfilling life.

After Brenda’s third cancer diagnosis and being told she had a year to live, she boldly stepped away from the accepted medical model, said “no” to chemotherapy, and chose alternative treatment. This unorthodox path, the connection of mind, body, and spirit, which many experts now believe is the key to true healing, ultimately saved Brenda’s life and put her in control of her own destiny. Her story reveals the immense healing power available within each of us.

With each obstacle Brenda encounters, we see the indefatigable courage and fortitude she demonstrates in facing her demons both inside and out. Michaels’ uplifting memoir encourages us to listen to our inner voice, trust our intuition, and look at the true source of healing.

Brenda Michaels is an inspiring, insightful, communicator. She is a syndicated talk-show host on Conscious Talk Radio and The Women’s Hour, a public speaker, workshop leader, spiritual and emotional coach, and the co-author of, The Gift of Cancer – A Miraculous Journey to Healing with Marsha Mercant and co-founder of Intentional Shift.
