Dr. Kevin Passero and his special guest Tom Malterre will be discussing how chemicals are altering our microbiome, hormones, and immune systems and what that means to our health.
Tom Malterre, MS, CN, received both his Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Nutrition from Bastyr University and is licensed by the state of Washington as a certified nutritionist. Tom travels throughout the United States and Canada lecturing at conferences on topics such as vitamin D, gluten intolerance, and digestive health. He empowers people through classes, seminars, and private counseling with his insight and depth of knowledge on the biochemical interactions within our bodies, and their relationships to our diet.
Listen in to Love Potion Episode 3 where we will discuss your unhappy and happy chemicals that the brain produces. We will also discuss the actual Process inside of the human brain when these chemicals are released.
How many chemicals are sitting under your sink? What do you use to wash your counter tops, stove top, oven, sinks, cutting board, dishes, pots and pans? No doubt, you are trying so hard to keep everything clean and sanitized. Odds are, you have a kitchen laced with unhealthy chemicals. Our guest, Leslie Reichert, “The Green Cleaning Coach” is a nationally-recognized “green” home-keeping expert who knows how to use food based liquids to clean. As she says, you’ll be moving your cleaning solutions from under your sink to your pantry or cabinets. Her book, The Joy of Green Cleaning, rightly lets you know Leslie is a lot of fun; cleaning your kitchen won’t be drudgery!
Over 80,000 chemicals flow through our system of commerce, and many are going straight into our bodies. Even our unborn children are affected. Due to this constant exposure, we have approximately 200 synthetic industrial chemicals interacting with our cells every single day. Until recently, modern science really didn’t understand what that could mean for all of us in the long run, but that is changing.
Join me as I interview the filmmaker of the movie, Ed Brown, "Unacceptable Levels" a powerful film that explores:
What the top minds in the fields of science, advocacy, and law are saying about the current levels of chemicals in our most commonly used products
What the current level of chemical exposure has to do with rising rates of disease, and long-term health results
What you can do to protect you and your family from chemical exposure
Put Toxic chemicals to rest, permanently and you will stay healthy longer, and resist disease longer and live longer.
Pollution you expose yourself to on a regular basis, of particular concern are chemicals known or suspected to be carcinogenic. Even "green" alternatives can contain harmful ingredients. It’s unfortunate, but the terms “green” and “natural” are really nothing more than marketing terms, and they do not automatically equate to safety. Moreover, many ingredients do not even have to be listed on the label in the first place, which makes it even more difficult to discern what you’re being exposed to. The manufacturers have conveniently lobbied the government to exempt them from this requirement, so they can purposely omit any ingredient that is considered a secret formula from its label. Not surprisingly, many of these non-disclosed ingredients are actually very toxic.
Lara Adler, a toxins expert, talks to me about chemicals, called obesegens, that make you FAT! It seems that Americans and people all over the world are living in an ‘obesogenic’ environment. Chemicals and toxins in our air, food, water and beauty products are promoting the obesity epidemic and making it easy to gain weight and hard to lose.
These chemicals promote obesity in a number of ways that may alarm you. Lara is going to tell you where they lurk and what you can do to avoid them.
Lara Adler informs parents about protecting their children from chemicals and trains health professionals how to inform their clients about toxins. See her website at Laraadler.com.
Take a moment and look around your home. Even if you don't see them, the chemicals are there. Cleaners leave behind chemical residues, foods contain chemicals that you can't see or smell, even your make-up may contain chemicals that you never knew existed. Now before you freak out and try to sterilize everything, listen to what we have to say about Chemicals in Our Homes.
We are talking about the Top 5 Chemicals that everyone should avoid. Find out what these chemicals are and where they can be found!
In the News today we are talking about how a major toy spill can shut down an entire highway! Yes I said toys, Legos to be exact. Tune in to find out more.
Tune in for the interview with the Messiest Mom of the Week, Tea from Unsweetened Tea.
Remember if you have any questions or comments during our show you can call in and talk with us!
It is a fact that we are all biochemically unique. Yes, just as each and everyone of us has a unique finger print, so do we have unique cell prints—which generally can tell us which types of foods we individually thrive on as well as which foods are a detriment to our systems. This is called Metabolic Typing and today’s guest has spent over 24 years perfecting this approach to better health. Not only will we be discussing the benefits of metabolic typing, we will also be discussing the importance of cellular detoxification. Say what? LOL… With the ever increasing levels of commercial pesticides, fungicides, herbicides, nitrates combined with steroids, antibiotics, and growth hormones in beef, poultry and other commercial farm animals it is important to know just what our bodies are up against on a daily basis and what you can do starting today to protect yourself from these harmful substances. In fact, research published in the Journal of Alternative and Complimentary Medicine showed that the drastic rise in the use of synthetic chemicals over the years closely matches the rise in the number of overweight and obese adults throughout North America
