In Luke 4:23 Jesus quotes a proverb, "Do miracles here in your hometown like those you did in Capernaum," which means to make sure you perform charity work in the city you live rather than focusing solely overseas. We see ministries clamoring to go overseas to perform mission work but their home church is surrounded by poverty. What do you think? Should churches perform overseas mission work? If so, are there certain things they should stay away from?
