Butterfly Evolution is turning the mic over to Amber Ivy and Jeremy Johnson/Blackout Media. Blackout Media reports...
According to the New Pittsburgh Courier and Free Press, there were some 18 black-owned stations in 2006, only 1.3% of all TV stations. In 2012 that number dropped to 5 and by 2013 it was zero due to buyouts by larger companies.
It is painful to see how our black brothers and sisters are portrayed on the news, television, and even movies. In 2015, directors continue to deal with systematic issues that cause black films with good storylines to not get funded because there is not a market for "good black films".
We have a trillion dollar buying power, so guess what WE are the market FOR? Join us as we discuss blacks in media and changing the narrative. We will also discuss the Black America 2.0 campaign to blackout media starting in May. Any media that continuously shows blacks in less than desirable light, we encourage you to stop watching. Yes to include, Hip Hop and Reality TV.
Join Butterfly Evolution in welcoming Blackout Media, Host, Tammy Gaitor and Rodney Jordan are looking forward to this discussion. Listen/comment at 818-691-7406 or register as a follower of the show in order to join the live chat. www.blogtalkradio.com/butterflyevolution.org

Changing Minds Online Presents...1st Sunday Superstars!
These are people that changed their lives around for the better and became true inspirations!
The 1st Sunday Superstar for May is Tim Hurst, Karate Teacher and Marathon Runner. Tim was very active as a young man. He was an avid bicyclist, runner and all around sports enthusiast. His dream was to one day teach karate at my own studio and run the Boston marathon. At age 21 while riding his motorcycle to college early one morning in May of 1981 he was struck head on by a garbage truck that turned in front of him on the highway. He had broken almost every bone in my body and was in the hospital for a year before he was released. A year after being released from the hospital he made the conscious decision to have it amputated from mid calf down. After waiting the time he needed to heal, Tim became very active again.
Unable to run with the mostly wooden prosthetic leg he had started riding bikes, lifting weights and teaching karate again. He has taught hundreds of students over the years and still continue to teach karate to this day but he still secretly dreamed of one day running the Boston Marathon. As the years passed and technology caught up, he was able to obtain one of the new "running blades". With this blade he has ran 43 marathons total in 38 different states, including the Boston and New York Marathons. He is now on a quest to run 50 marathons in 50 states. We are excited to have him share his story with us Sunday, 5/3 at 9pm EST / 8pm CST. Call in at (949) 203-4763 and hear this wonderful story. http://www.blogtalkradio.com/changingmindsonline/2015/05/04/1st-sunday-superstars--tim-hurst

So many of us seek practical solutions to unhappiness and dissatisfaction, convinced that if we could just crack the right code, we'll be on our way to peace and fulfillment. But unhappiness can't be solved by tweaking problematic situations. Psychologist Gail Brenner, Ph.D., offers insight in her new book, The End of Self Help: Discovering Peace and Happiness Right at the Heart of Your Messy, Scary, Brilliant Life. When we focus on external circumstances - our job, our relationships, our belongings - in the belief that they define us, it creates the unhappiness we experience. When we intentionally shift our attention away from the thoughts and feelings bringing us unhappiness, our agitated feelings give way to a far more peaceful and constructive frame of mind. This interview originally aired on Empower Radio.
Dr. Aikyna Finch and Jessica Leichtweisz will be joined on the Empowering Women Series by L. McGregor

Seemingly, in the Natural, Spring just doesn't want to be consistant. As it is in the Natural, so it is in the Spiritual that the season has just not appeared to have been consistant. The truth of the matter is that it is not been THE SEASON that has been inconsistant, spiritually speaking, it's been you. Learn to accept what God allows to "GROW" you. He that hath an ear, let him HEAR!!! .
