Paige McKay Kubik- The Executive Director of Frazer Center

    in Women

The Frazer Center is an inclusive community where people at all levels of ability and disability gather, learn and flourish together.

This is the backstory of The Frazer Center- The life of a young couple is often the stuff of dreams: the places they may live, the journeys they may take, the children they may have. In 1948, this was the story for one of our founding families, the Lanes.

Their lives took an unexpected turn, however, when their daughter was born with cerebral palsy. Together with their dear friends the Frazers, the Lanes searched for a program for their daughter. Feeling frustrated and saddened by what they saw, they created the Cerebral Palsy School for six children at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in 1949. Two years later, the Frazers and Lanes were able to acquire the former estate of Cator Woolford (founder of the Retail Credit Company, now Equifax), thirty-nine acres located in the heart of Druid Hills. Renamed REACH in 1989 and The Frazer Center in 1999, our historic mission to offer research-based education, vocational support, and therapeutic intervention to children and adults with developmental disabilities and their families is still the heart of our work today. Tune in and suppport Frazer Center

The Legal Show: Adding Insult to (Literal) Injury in Louisiana

    in Legal

Attorney Sarah Avraham and writer Bennet Pomerantz discuss the subjects of the day.

The audience should know that although Ms. Avraham is a licensed attorney, she is not offering legal advice in any capacity, is not establishing an attorney/client relationship with anyone listening to the show, and recommends that any listener of the show consult a local attorney for any legal advice they may require.

This show is about us discussing hot topics and how they relate to the law.  The commonplace practice of billing rape victims in Louisiana for medical exams came to an end in June after state lawmakers signed off laws that change what the federal government has required for a decade.  Why did this take so long?  Why was the federal government allowing this in the first place?  Tune in to hear our hosts answer these and other questions on this issue.

FROM THE SCHOOLMASTER TO THE SAVIOR: "The Importation of Bondage" p4

    in Religion

From The Schoolmaster To The Savior - "The Importation of Bondage" pt 4

"O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you that you should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed among you as crucified? This only I want to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh? Have you suffered so many things in vain if indeed it was in vain? Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, does He do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? just as Abraham "believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness. Therefore know that only those who are of faith are sons of Abraham." (Galatians 3:1-7)

In this passage, The Apostle Paul scolds those of the Church of Galatia for allowing themselves to be deceived by the Judaizers. Join me on this leg of my series "From The Schoolmaster to The Savior" as we look to the book of correction that Galatians is, where the Apostle Paul seeks to stem the importation of bondage by those seeking to create a Law/Faith hybrid by which to enslave this non-Jewish Church.
