Carson's Corner with The Election Boycott Advocates.

    in Politics Progressive

On this March 22nd, 2015, edition of Carson's Corner, the Election Boycott Advocates will begin the show by discussing the argument for early voting. Recently President Obama made the argument that mandatory voting is "potentially transformative." President Obama and his rulers want to further solidify their control over us by enshrining the meaningless act of voting. As we have discussed, voting only validates plutocratic control; and the best way to delegitimize our rulers is to not participate in their game. We'll discuss this, plus play some clips and discuss the rest of the news you won't hear in the corporate media.

Carson's Corner: The Election Boycott Advocates.

    in Politics Progressive

On this edition of Carson's Corner with the Election Boycott Advocates, we revisit the purpose of the Election Boycott Advocates. Some are suggesting that even the election of Syriza cannot save Greece and there can be no electoral exit from the crisis (http://crimethinc.com/texts/r/syriza/).  We at the Election Boycott Advocates believe that there can be no electoral exit from our current and ongoing crises, capitalism. Participation in our plutocratic election system is absolutely meaningless, as the capitalist class use our consent to make us weaker and weaker, as they get stronger and stronger.  It is critical that working class Americans realize that they have no stake in our election system and join us in spreading non-compliance.  The first step in any revolution is the elevation of consciousness, then non-compliance. This 2 hour program will be dedicated to expressing the need for the Election Boycott Advocates.

Carson's Corner: The Election Boycott Advocates.

    in Politics Progressive

Fresh off a huge show about the fight against Capitalism, Carson's Corner is back with the Election Boycott Advocates. This week, we will discuss the potential Fast Track of the Trans Pacific Partnership, another corporate "free trade" agreement designed to erode our economic sovereignty and bring the working class further down into the abyss. Since the last round of devastating trade agreements, Americans have lost an estimated 60,000 factories- Mexico has lost at least 1 million jobs (although the number is undoubtedly higher). The TPP and TPIP will override what's left of our courts, regulatory agencies, and ultimately give more control to the transnational corporations and the capitalist class. Is there growing opposition to these deals, or are they signed, sealed, and nearly delivered Do Americans have any say in this matter? Is this part of what Fred Goldstein would call, Low Wage Capitalism, further increasing the wage competition between American workers and the rest of the world, so that the ruling class can increase their profits?

We'll also talk about other important issues that face the working class, and take your calls in the process.

Carson's Corner: The Election Boycott Advocates.

    in Politics Progressive

The Election Boycott Advocates are broadcasting live on Super Bowl Sunday. While over a hundred million Americans tune into the big game only to be bombarded with capitalist-driven messages designed to maintain compliance, the Election Boycott Advocates will focus on the important issues facing the working class. Last week in Greece, the anti-capitalist party Syriza won close to a total majority. The people of Greece are fed up with the austerity-driven policies applied by the capitalists and their accumulated debt, which has absolutely crippled the working class. What does this mean for Greece, the Euro, and other countries? Could this be the beginning of a hardline leftist movement that seeks to overthrow the parasitic banks and capitalists all around the world? Some have suggested in the American corporate media that the American version of Syriza has already been started by the likes of Senators Bernie Sanders, Sherrod Brown, and Elizabeth Warren. Is this the case? Tune in to the Election Boycott Advocates on Carson’s Corner for this live call-in discussion.

Carson's Corner: The Election Boycott Advocates.

    in Politics Progressive

The Election Boycott Advocates welcome a very special guest to the show.  Alya Rea from the Greanville Post joins the show to discuss the relationship between the United States, Russia and Ukraine. We'll also ask Alya to give her thoughts on the recent developments in Greece.

The Following is Rea's bio from the Greanville Post:

Alevtina Rea is a researcher, analyst and writer and a strong supporter of social justice and human rights. For 7 years (2005 – 2012), she worked as an assistant editor with CounterPunch, a leading left political journal in the Anglophone world that exemplifies, along with The Greanville Post and a small cluster of sites, what an oppositional press should be like. She believes that “the role of the media is to educate, inform and shed light where there is none” in order to counter state-sponsored propaganda. Given the appalling criminality and atrocities committed by Western imperialism around the world, she believes that Russia—by opposing such power, and by her growing cooperation with Latin American and Asian countries— offers a new hope to humanity. Ms. Rea is also a contributing author to CounterPunch, Cyrano’s Journal Today, Uncommon Thought Journal,  and the International Journal of Baudrillard Studies. She can be reached at rea.alya@gmail.com.
