Join Authors on the Rise, where we will have young ladies/women speaking about society's pressures of engaging in intimacy, trying drugs, drinking and the size a socially acceptable lady should be. Just like our young men, our young ladies/women need mentors, they need women to inspire them to reach for the moon and if they fall short, let them know that they are still amongst the stars. Society and celebraties push, "being thin is in", but thin people are not always the healthiest people. There is peer pressure, even though some of our young people are not intimate, they pretend to be, so they will appear cool. Then put pressure or criticize thei peers who they know are not and bully them into doing something that they are not ready for. As a community family, they need all the encouragement we can give, be a part of the HARMON.

Monday morning show will begin with a Candidate announcement for the 63rd State House Seat.
Earlier this month Dr. Kris Crawford gave up his seat at the table just a month after winning his fifth term as the 63rd District State House Representative. Crawford strolled back to the State House in Columbia, SC facing no opposition in the November 4th election. While many questions have been asked why Crawford abruptly resigned, there has never been a question several people would jump at the chance to take the seat if it become available.
Although filing for the 63rd Seat opened December 26th, the Election Office was closed for the Christmas holiday. Attorney Jay Jordan, businessman/City Councilman Robbie Hill are also expected to seek the open seat. At least three other folks are considering entering the race.
Next on the day's agenda Donald Mazzella will join us as we discuss "Celebraties Turned Politicians". What influence do celebrities have on the political agendas? Should people listen to celebrities' opinions? Do celebrities ever regret their comments about issues/politics?

I hope you will jump "In the Pickle Barrel" at 8AM-10AM EST and join in the discussions. You can join by clicking the link or go thru iTunes.

Questions from MyNDTALK listeners. about grandmother's problems with kids, complaining husbands, and Ray Rice/domestic violence among sports celebraties.
We are told when another black child is killed we should control our emotions. We are told that the lives of celebraties who commit suicide is worth more tha a child who is gunned down on a ghetto street. At least that is how the media portrays it..and we believe whatever the boob-tube, cable news or news rags say! Right?
Our emotions and feelings are under the control of others. Our nation has been programmed to mourn idols and movie stars and walk past the destruction, death and homelessness of our citizens without a blink.
Our emotions are manipulated by the images we see on screen and we are asked not to think critically about what we see.
How do we function in this new militarized society?
How do we end the violence put upon us by the police and even those in our own communities?
How do we deal with the circus specticle called journalism?
All are facets of mind control.
