My guest for 04/23/14 is Skye Dyer.
Skye Dyer has always loved to sing. At the age of four she asked her parents if she could take singing lessons and luckily for her they said yes. Skye had a lot of energy as a kid and loved to be the center of attention. She used to move her sisters out of the way in home videos to make sure she was in the spotlight. She now watches those videos and cringes, but she has now realized she was training for her life as a performer.
Music is everything to Skye. She has always been very moved by soul, jazz and folk music and loves the way pop music has such catchy melodies. The list of musical influences on Skye is a long one, she's always felt she could learn something from every artist pouring out their soul for the world to hear. She likes to think that she is always growing as a songwriter and artist, and hopes that her audience will grow along with her.
During the show we'll be talking about her new album "Letting Go." I'll be playing the song "Letting Go" and we'll be talking about the song and why she chose "Letting Go" as the title for her new album. We'll also talk about her upcoming performances, what it's like to have Wayne Dyer as her Dad, and what it's like to perform during his talks and PBS specials.

Neocons infiltrated the GOP as the Democrats fell into social chaos, only to find that it was better to control both parties. Irving Kristol said, “Neocons Are Liberals Who Have Been Mugged by Reality,” a catchy summary that is mostly true, but not how Neocons think it is. The reality is liberals, libertarians and even most conservatives are cut from the same cloth – modern liberalism.
The American experiment in self-governance is conservative to the core. Conservatives and libertarians have much in common because modern liberalism is Utopian in nature and views the state as totalitarian. Republicans and Democrats are allies, they seek to drive the society from the centralized power of the total state, which engenders a reaction from Marxists and anarcho-libertarians for the abolishment of the state. True conservatives see a need for an authority to create the conditions of order so the rest of society can order our lives together organically – this is necessarily a limited government and a society ordered toward virtue, protecting unalienable individual rights.
We swing between absolutists and anarchists; toward an ever-growing central government. Only conservatives can restore balance, we must resist the impulse toward absolute individualism and absolute government. The Rise of the Neocons in both parties leads to the ever-increasing welfare/warfare. You are the resistance.
Tyranny is assured UNLESS liberty-loving people can set aside differences and band together against the rising tide of statism. Grassroots conservatives and libertarians MUST work together to ensure the restoration of constitutionally limited government. End the imperialist police state and to defeat the Democrat-Socialists, first you MUST CRUSH the RINOs, for liberty!

Join us this week as we welcome the pop rock band, Carmen and Camille. The twin sister duo have been practicing since childhood, experimenting with what they call “passion pop” - their trademark honesty set to catchy, dance floor hooks. Carmen & Camille’s new album NEON captures the passion, heartbreak and elation of the pop duo's desire to make their musical dreams comes true in the rough and tumble, star studded town of Los Angeles. Just after the girls embraced their American roots and moved to the US, in a surprise twist, they found success in their native country Canada as their single Shine 4U shot up the Canadian charts and garnered them a Juno nomination (Canada's version of a Grammy). Their rising success didn’t happen overnight, as the girls had already developed a devoted fan base through licensing with several MTV shows including The Hills which reached a worldwide audience. They were already being talked about in Billboard, Elle Girl, Stuff Mag, Seventeen and performed on one of the last episodes of MTV's Total Request Live. C&C have toured with live performances around Europe, the US and Canada and on gritty military tours in remote areas of the Middle East. We will talk to them about their upcoming schedule, get a behind the scenes look at their music, feature songs from their new album "NEON", and ask them to share their message for the troops. Please be sure to visit Carmen and Camille at http://www.carmenandcamille.com/ and spread the word. Fans are welcome to call in and speak live with with them during the show (718) 766-4193.
