    in Motivation

    The Movie?

    Walt Disney's Saving Mr. Banks.

In addition to being a wonderful movie with incredible performances by Tom Hanks and Emma Thompson, there are lots of great lessons for life, love and business we can learn from the film. What would a Disney movie be without that?

In a lively fun discussion and a catchy sing a long tune or two, we will explore the lessons embedded in this brilliant Disney feature.

For those of you that don't know the story or have not seen the film. Walt Disney's daughters begged him to make a movie of their favorite book, P.L. Travers' Mary Poppins (1964), he made them a promise - one that he didn't realize would take 20 years to keep. In his quest to obtain the rights, Walt comes up an insanely difficult writer who is not about to let her beloved magical nanny get mauled by Hollywood. But Travers finds herself all but broke and reluctantly travels to LA to meet with Walt. For weeks in 1961, Disney pulls out all the stops, armed with imaginative storyboards and chirpy songs. But Mrs. Travers doesn't budge. The rights begin to move look like they might slip away forever. It is only when Walt reaches into his own childhood that he discovers the truth about the ghosts that haunt her, and together they set Mary Poppins free to ultimately make one of the most endearing films in cinematic history – Mary Poppins

    BEYONCE IS DISINGENUOUS

    in Entertainment

These artists will make their money by any means necessary as their ego is their product.

#FORMATION is another opportunity for a BEYONCE rotation
and that is ALL it is
I would rather see your humanitarian efforts than another SUPER BOWL performance BEYONCE! Brushing over KATRINA with a couture fashion shoot on top of a police car does nothing for the victims who are trying to rebuild 10 years later, or the efforts to prevent what happened from happening again
Apparently BLACKS are easily impressed by a COUTURE fashion shoot set in motion by an overrated pop star. What about #FLINT ?
FLINT WATER CRISIS is not trending, KATRINA isnt even trending, what is trending is HOT SAUCE. What is trending is RED LOBSTER.
So red lobster is benefiting, beyonce is benefiting, but who isnt benefiting? the people.
What was the purpose in featuring that imagery if we are not going to SEE you do your humanitarian work? What is the purpose of you saying you are HALF CREOLE and NEGRO ? WHAT DOES THE LYRICS TO THIS SONG #FORMATION have to do with the issues surrounding our people and the tragedies of the world? BEYONCE, you are not a hero, you are not socially conscious, you are a THIEF of knowledge, a distraction, a puppet of ignorance.
The song is catchy, the video is entertaining, but that is all it is. Michael Jackson coupled his videos with lyrics and EFFORTS!!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING BEYONCE?! People, stop being zombies, wake up and stop worshipping lackluster con artistry

This is exactly where Birdie finds himself one day in this beautifully produced picture book, Outside Inside. When Birdie does not see his friends around, he decides to look for them. Just when Birdie is about to give up and go back to his nest, his friends surprise him. They open up, invite him inside and reveal what they had been up to all along.

Using 35 easy words and 26 pages of vivid illustrations, it is geared toward the youngest of readers, but the catchy story is attention grabbing for adults as well. The adults will appreciate the deeper double meaning as Birdie's change of heart corresponds with the action around the outside and inside settings.

What does it take to be a Pro? The Real Journey of a Professional Athlete

    in Sports

My tag line is “sports and beyond… more than just a game!”. There is so much to that phrase than just being catchy. Sports connect us, it can divide, but at the end of the day it provides opportunities for us to have some common ground. For some, it is their life’s work for others it is sheer entertainment. Wherever you fall along the spectrum there is a place for you.

On this week’s show we’ll talk about the highs and lows of the professional game. We’ll talk about managing the expectations of your coach, team, fans and even of one’s self. Of course we’ll tackle the big sports stories of the week and look at who’s making news on and off the field, but we’ll add a little something extra to the mix. Fox Sports Broadcaster, NFL Analyst and former Super Bowl Champion Spencer Tillman will join us live.

If you’re wondering… which sports and/or which games, or which influencers… you’ll have to just tune in to find out. See you Wednesday, November 4th at 11:00am CST! Until then make it a great week!

Interview with Saxophonist/Recording Artist Gary Palmer

    in Music

Passionate about the saxophone since he was a kid growing up in New York City, Gary Palmer frequently turned to the horn as an outlet and stress reliever during his many years as a law enforcement official. In addition to playing it to change the trajectories of difficult workdays, he always had contemporary/smooth jazz on the radio, calming him and helping him focus even when he was on high stress stakeouts with the Lauderhill Police Department and Broward County Sheriff’s Office, Fort Lauderdale, Fl. – retiring in 2010. Now, with the release of the multi-talented musician and performer’s highly anticipated smooth/urban jazz debut Love Me Again, Palmer is the one helping others chill via his cool, catchy melodies, old school production vibe, tropical flavors and easy funk grooves.

Like many musicians who set their dreams aside for ‘straight careers,’ Palmer began making up for lost time after he retired from the Broward Sheriff’s Office. Just as he was becoming immersed in the writing and recording of the album, he returned to the Broward Sheriff’s Office – where he originally began serving in the early 80s – to become the Colonel of the Department of Detention and Community Programs. Palmer has found exciting ways to merge his two worlds, performing events for the Florida Sheriff’s Association, the Ft. Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce, the Lauderhill Chamber of Commerce and other civic functions. In addition to these gigs with his regular band (known as Gary Palmer and the GP Project, the saxophonist has created a side band comprised of colleagues of his at the Sheriff’s Office. They meet every Tuesday for two hours to work on cover songs and new material, and also perform regularly throughout the community.
