Saturday Afternoon with Carolyn Yeager returns to the airwaves! The last edition of this program was on April 12, 2014, a month and a half ago. It may not appear every Saturday, and may even show up on a different day than Saturday (!) if it is more convenient that way, but it will still be called SAWCY and archived under that category.
Also notice that the time has changed from 1pm Central to 2pm Central, one hour later than it was before. This is a better time for me and can still accomodate European guests.
Our current year 2014 is the centenary (100th anniversary) of what came to be called the First World War, originally "The Great War." This program will be the (rather tardy) beginning of shows pertaining to this most terrible of wars which, it is widely agreed, set the stage for the even more savage Second World War.
Carolyn Yeager discusses Racial Nationalism in the context of “Blood and Soil” National Socialism versus the confused ideas coming from Julius Evola that spirit, rather than ethnic substance, determines culture, and that there is such a thing as a “race of the spirit.”
The images in the slide show are of Evola at different stages of his life and two of his "futurist style" paintings.
With Guest Paul Hickman. Carolyn and Paul go back to the Naval Defence Act of 1889 and trace from there tensions that built up between the UK and Germany. Some of the events and personalities they discuss are:
Cecil Rhodes and British expansionist ideas;
The Jameson raid and the Kruger telegram;
The 2nd Boer War;
The entanglement of the European royal families its effect on Kaiser Wilhelm II;
The fears brought about by the Berlin-Bagdad Railway;
Germany's increasing economic and trade strength;
The Zionist plan for Palestine and the Landman Document;
German help in fomenting revolution in Russia in 1916.
On the 70th anniversary of the Allied landing on Normandy's coast, known as D-Day, which was Friday, June 6, Carolyn looks at the possibility of treason as the reason for the poor Wehrmacht response to the invasion. Highlights include:
Generals and even Field Marshals serving in Northwest France in anticipation of the 1944 invasion were the same ones who participated in the July 20, 1944 assassination attempt on Hitler;
Most likely of all to be helping the enemy was Lt. General Hans Spiedel, FM Erwin Rommel's Chief of Staff, who had authority while Rommel was away and was slow to pass on information;
An unusual number of key leaders were away from their headquarters on June 6, but the weather was thought unfavorable for a landing;
Hans Spiedel was released by the French after the war and in 1957 was named Commander of the Allied Forces, Central Europe, an important NATO post, held until 1963;
The last installment of Oblt. Leopold Wenger's letters from the front have been published - comments are welcomre.
National Action is an organization of British youths who have come together for the purpose of influencing the indigenous White British people to take back their country from the extreme multi-culuralism in which it is now drowning. They do this through street activism, somewhat reminiscent of the National-Socialist "Stormtroopers" in Germany in the 1920's. The job today is more difficult for a number of reasons.
I'll be talking to the leader of National Action about his personal beliefs and inspiration, his organizational ideas, as well as his expectations for actual accomplishment.
