Mike Garson is best known as David Bowie’s pianist. He has also worked with such bands as Nine Inch Nails and Smashing Pumpkins. He's now partnered with Dr. Christopher Duma, a Newport Beach physician who does brain surgery routinely (with rock music piped into the operating room) and who is, indeed, trying to find new treatments for brain cancer and neurological conditions such as Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's. This dynamic duo is going for the gold to try and heal people with all types of ailments and diseases with music. Medicine and music are combined in a blender of genius with therapy that hasn't been used like this before. Not only do they need people that will dominate the medical field, but they also need the musical genius of Mike Garson to head the project home. On our show today we discuss Selfishness in Marriage with Chris and Carmen Garner. We all marry thinking that the “honeymoon” will never end; that the euphoric feelings of love will always be there, but the Apostle Paul wrote to the Corinthians that those who marry will have trouble (1Cor. 7:28). Yes, there will be trouble from the outside; illness, financial problems, problems with children, but often the problems couples experience come from one or both spouses’ selfishness. James 4:1 points this out; “What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from your desires that battle within you?” Each spouse’s own selfishness tends to be the biggest problem in marriage.
