Matt Williams, Kaitlin Kozell & Teagan Littlechief

    in Music

Three popular Canadian Country artists join me on this episode of In The Country to talk about their music careers and share their latest radio singles.

Music has always been an undeniable passion for Cobourg, Ontario's MATT WILLIAMS for as long as he can remember. “I remember from a very early age singing in the stands at baseball games with my mother”. Years later it was a Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers concert that influenced him to pursue a career in music. “As soon as the lights went down I was hooked.” Matt's latest single is called Make Love Tonight and features Peterborough Country artist Alyssa Morrissey.

Mississauga, Ontario's KAITLIN KOZELL was one of the top eight finalists in the Emerging Artist Showcase at the 2014 Boots & Hearts music festival. Since being added to the roster of Leafs anthem singers in the late fall of 2011 and performing at her first game in January of 2012, Kaitlin has had the opportunity to perform at numerous Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Marlies, and other MLSE events and functions. Kaitlin's new single is called Heart Of This Home.

TEAGAN LITTLECHIEF is a country artist from the White Bear First Nations north of Carlyle, Saskatchewan. At the age of 4 her play school teacher overheard her singing Part Of Your World from Little Mermaid and encouraged her mother Sara to put her in vocal lessons. Those lessons were the beginning of a lifetime filled with the love of music, which her mother Sara has stood behind and supported every step of the way. Radio was first introduced to Teagan in 2009 with her album entitled Rising Above. Teagan's latest single is called I'll Bring The Party.

    26. Wisdom is Life's Legacy: Learning from Mistakes and Finding Your Power

    in Lifestyle

"Mistakes are always forgivable, if one has the courage to admit them." Bruce Lee

"The FX" will take a look into the lessons that life teaches us everyday. Through decisions, trial and errors, and even making mistakes. It is through the lessons from making mistakes we learn to grow. Monday night, we dwell into the acceptance of making mistakes, and see what or how to adapt the next time a similar situation shows itself. Doing so can allow one to be "truthful" to oneself and offer an opportunity to open a window to finding our "super powers."

Also tonight, the Artist Spotlight highlights an up and coming producer and rapper in Chicago. The GreenHouse FX welcomes Dashaun Flowers. Tune in to hear how the lessons this young man has already learned, the goals he is attempting to accomplish, and his look on his future and how it can positivity impact others.

"Nothing stops a person who desires to achieve. Every obstacle is simply a course to develop one's achievement muscle. It's strengthen of his/her powers of accomplishment."  Thomas Carlyle

3rd Party Senate Candidate Michael Jansen Jr & the AWAKE Party: June 1, 10 pm CT

    in Politics

Join Sarah for the next episode of the Progressive Patriot at 10 pm Central time on Sunday, June 2. We will be discussing GMO's, the March Against Monsanto and 3rd Party candidate Michael Jansen Jr's campaign for US Senate in the state of Minnesota. Born and raised in Minnesota, Michael has lived and studied all over the world, and is now concerned with the growing mainstream acceptance here at home of chemical toxins in our food and water, fracking, the Keystone XL Pipeline, and the widespread congressional ambivalence on climate change. Sarah happened to run into him on Grand Ave in St Paul, Minnesota while he was collecting signatures to get onto the ballot and was very intrigued by the name of the party he is running on: the Awake Party.

We will be sure to bring closing Gitmo and our federal government's use of drones into the conversation, as well as breifly touching on NSA surveillance and Edward Snowden. A strikingly green and libertarian plaform, the Awake Party is unique in its honor of the Bill of Rights and human rights, so please join Sarah and Michael for this fascinating discussion Sunday night.

    25. The Connection between Mental Health and Physical Health

    in Lifestyle

According to the Canadian Mental Health Association, "...mental health and physical health are fundamentally linked. People living with a serious mental illness are at higher risk of experiencing a wide range of physical conditions. Conversely, people living with physical health conditions experience depression and anxiety at twice the rate of the general population."

Returning to The GreenHouse FX Radio Show will be special co-host Bill Green, continuing our monthly discussion on Mental Health. This Monday, the Greens will examine the converse relationship of mental health and physical health. Exploring why and how they exist; looking at common conditions such as diabetes, heart disease and cancer that can result from their co-existence; and finding ways to fight this one-two combination and get the treatment(s) needed.

Tune in Monday Night 7/8p (ct/et) online at www.blogtalkradio.com/thegreenhousefx or listen on your phone: 818-691-7412

    24. To Switch or Not to Switch: Corporal Punishment and Traditions of Spanking"

    in Lifestyle

This Monday, "The FX" will discuss the topic of Abuse. We have read and talked about the "hot topics" in the media, but Monday we will attempt to go a little further into the topic. In dealing with Domestic Abuse, we will examine how to recognize that you are in an abusive relationship as well as the steps needed to get out of it.
Also we will look at the time old tradition that many of us have experience... spankings. "...when I was growing up, I use to get whippings all the time and I turned out fine..." We've either heard that comment or said it. The question has come up recently, "does Corporal Punishment encourage rather than deters violent behavior?"

Experience the "FX" and tune in Monday night at 7/8p (ct/et)
