    Carlos Castaneda and His Teachings

    in Radio

On Thursday October 4th, 2012 the Hermetic Hour with host Poke Runyon will present a discussion on the anthropologist-shaman and allegorical fiction writer Carlos Castaneda (1925-1998) and the teachings of his mysterious mentor the Yaqui sorcerer Don Juan Matus.  This serves to be more of an appreciation of Carlos and Don Juan than a critique. We will focus on what many consider his best work: "Journey to Ixtlan." So tune, turn on, and "stop the world."

Change Agents Hall of Fame - Carlos Castaneda

    in Culture

Welcome to the first episode of Change Agents Hall Of Fame Series:
Carlos Castaneda was at the very core of the social engineers and their plan to colonize and control the western mind. Castaneda's books on 'Shamanism and Living' were published, distributed, and promoted all over the world, by the biggest and most influential publishers. His books were built upon lies. There was no shaman named Don Juan who held the ancient secrets of an ancient people.
Castaneda reinforced, and sometimes ignited, the new social memes that help build the false reality we now live within. From Berlin to San Francisco, he is worshipped as some hidden adept and master--the reality is something quite different. Some of those who followed him committed suicide upon his death, leaving a personal legacy of mind control and inner psychological destruction. We look at the connection between Castaneda and the Social Engineers--and how together they created a world wide movement to confuse the western world. Why care about a dead guru? Because the new Carlos Castaneda is staring both you and I in the face at this very moment.--James BraveWolf, author

    #RealTalk :: Carlos Gil Marketing Keynote 2015

    in Business

Today, marketing is not defined by how many people you reach but by how many people you influence.

Marketing is not about print circulars, or online ads, it’s about connecting customers with solutions that meet their needs.

Customers are connected, influential, and they expect that you engage with them – it’s not an option anymore.

Customers who are informed, and connected to your brand, are more likely to shop with you. Creating loyalty doesn’t happen overnight. It’s a process, which requires listening to what your customers are saying about your brand, and reacting to their sentiment whether it’s good or bad.

The challenge for brand marketers today isn’t just how-to keep up with the evolution of the customer but being a storyteller within a media company.

Listen to Carlos Gil's passionate keynote on the "State of Digital Marketing 2015", presented on February 20, 2015 at the 54th Annual American Marketing Association Conferene in St. Louis, Missouri.

InTouch with Stalking Carlos Castaneda and Joan Wulfsohn

    in Spirituality

Joan Wulfsohn, a student of Carlos Castaneda, was a soloist in the National Ballet of South Africa and has taught dance all over the world.  In 1972 she underwent a double mastectomy and her soon-to-be-ex husband abducted their 3 children, spiriting them away to a foreign country.  Joan felt she should have died yet she did NOT!  In her book, Stalking Carlos Castaneda she chronicles her journey by way of lessons learned from the colorful people she met and worked with.  This is the story of how one woman learned to live a magical life filled with wonder and transcendence.  Today on InTouch Interviews I have the pleasure of welcoming Joan to the program.  And you are encouraged to listen and be fascinated with her story as well as the bodywork technique she developed  known as Cellular Recall Therapy to help others access a spiritual path through their bodies.

Bad sentences beware of Washington Post nonfiction book critic Carlos Lozada

    in Writing

Woe be unto you writer, should you land in a Washington Post article titled “The five worst sentences I read in January.” When I read that post written by the new nonfiction book critic Carlos Lozada, I knew two things. First, I needed to interview Lozada. Second, I was afraid to write him an email.

Lozada’s voice engaged me because in addition to rhetorical smarts, he’s pretty funny. Though he’s been at the paper for several years, he began his new role at Book Party in January.  I’m proud to announce the March 22 episode of Behind the Prose will feature an interview with Lozada. In classic Behind the Prose fashion, I’ll learn how he approaches his own writing craft and process and what it’s like to read and write for a living.

Besides the five worst sentences he read in January, we’ll discuss his Book Party posts including the hilarious book review “Reggie Love on life as Obama’s “chief of stuff” and the ballooning list of journalism cliches forbidden in the The Post’s Sunday Outlook section.

Oh, and if you do find yourself in one of Lozada’s worst sentences articles,  don’t be upset. He just shames your offending sentence, not your entire book.

Unless, I suppose, it needed it.

Carlos Lozada is associate editor and nonfiction book critic at the Washington Post, where he has worked since 2005 in various capacities, including economics editor, national security editor and Outlook editor. Previously, he was managing editor of Foreign Policy magazine and a Knight-Bagehot fellow in economics and business journalism at Columbia University. A native of Lima, Peru, he is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and Princeton University.

Saving Families and Getting Families Saved: Special Guest Carlos Johnson

    in Entrepreneur

Minister Carlos Johnson initially answered his call to ministry in 1991 by working with the youth at Oak Grove AME Church under the guidance and training of Bishop Gregory Ingram. As he grew to develop an even greater hunger for learning and understanding the ways of God he was later led to pursue further study and training under the leadership of Pastor Emory Moss at Strictly Biblical Bible Teaching Ministry.

Later in 2005 he was officially ordained by Pastor Christopher Brooks at Evangel Ministries as Director of the Family and the Master’s Men ministry. A ministry set on restoring and reviving the blue print and role of men in the family.

As he grew closer to God, he was empowered and inspired to minister to families in a greater way so:

he created the family curriculum titled God’s Prosperous Family
finished his second book titled “The Pains & Joys of Raising Boys"
and launched his family ministry- Back-2-The Family Ministries whose mission is:
Saving Families and Getting Families Saved.

He is a faithfully dedicated husband and father, a good steward to his church as well as the people of God he serves. As he continues the fight for restoration and renewal in families, he believes with a passion:

The strength and weakness of any organization,
be it corporation, community, church or country
is directly related to the strengths and weaknesses
of the families that belong to it.

So as God leads him he’ll continue his mission of

  • Recovery Radio Fresno with Louis Angel and Carlos Garcia of Praise Chapel

    in Motivation

The NNIA presents Recovery Radio Fresno with Louis Angel and Carlos Garcia of Praise Chapel in Visalia California.  Carlos wrote "My name is Carlos Garcia and I am the lead pastor of Praise Chapel Visalia, a radical church with a radical vision to see lives transformed by the gospel of Jesus Christ! At one time I was lost, addicted, homeless, and hopeless. I was living a life marked by quiet desperation and no vision. In the year of 2000 my miserable life was interrupted by the love of Jesus Christ! Jesus gave me hope, healing, forgiveness, and a reason to live. Today I find myself a humble example of how Jesus can turn a mess into a message and a hopeless dope fiend into a joy-filled hope fiend. Jesus is still in the miracle working business!! If you or somebody you may know needs to hear something that will encourage you in your faith and in your recovery I encourage you to listen in on this episode of Recovery Radio Fresno!"
