    Career Management Fundamentals

    in Jobs

Who are the most important people in your life?

The most popular answer to that question is: “My family.”  For most of us, “family” represents those individuals who believe in us and trust us to provide them with the necessities of life.

I now ask you to begin thinking of your family as your Personal Board of Directors.  These are the people to whom you have the greatest responsibility and who will benefit the most from your successful job search.  They are also the individuals who endure hardship if your search is unproductive and there’s no other source of income.  Put another way, your Personal Board of Directors deserves to have you working at nothing less than peak performance during your search.

That’s why learning to detach from the grip of The Black Hole is so essential.  While The Black Hole is a no-brainer to use,  that personal comfort level comes with a steep price tag:  no acknowledgement of resumes and cover letters, no status updates via e-mail or phone calls, and no invitations for interviews … just to name a few.  And getting miserable results like that does nothing to support your Personal Board of Directors.

Career Coaching - Dissolve Self-sabotaging Beliefs

    in Jobs

Today, I have a great interview for you. My guest has had a very interesting life and work experience. My guest on this show is Kathy Sparrow.
Kathy Sparrow is best known for inspiring her clients to discover how to become the stars of their own lives by creating the space for them to achieve greater awareness of what's out of balance in their lives and to define what they truly desire to have, do, and be––at work, home, in relationship, and at play.
As the Adventure Coach, she lovingly and yet firmly coaxes her clients to show up for themselves and raise the bar to dance at the edge of their comfort zone.
As a Certified RIM facilitator, her coaching style is accelerated by the use of The RIMMethod, a mind/body technique where she creates the space for clients to heal emotional trauma and dissolve self-sabotaging beliefs.
Kathy is a Certified Taylor Protocols Core Values Index facilitator.
A graduate of Jack Canfield’s 2011 Train the Trainer program, she is on Canfield’s 2012/2013 Assisting Team.
No stranger to embracing change as an adventure, Kathy is an award-winning writer and author. She was one of the only female saltwater fly fishing guides in the nation for several years on the Lower Laguna Madre in deep South Texas. She is a former professor of English and academic advisor at the University of Texas-Pan American, where she designed a curriculum for her first -year writing courses around the theme of "Discovering Your Mission in Life."
