The Million Man March was an event that took place on October 16th 1995. 19 years ago. Many say it was a successful event and then you also have some that say it was not.
Today on "It's My House" we shall measure the Million Man Marches "carbon footprint". We shall define what a "carbon footprint" is and then relate it that definition in everyday practical terms; plus add in major events since the Million Man March that might not had happened if the people who participated in the event know what a "carbon footprint" was.
We shall also explain why knowing what a carbon footprint is so important and in knowing, one can reverse the effects of white supremacy.

Topic: Is Carbon Monoxide Poisoning Truck Drivers?
Virginia Chomo, a volunteer of Trucker Charity,
will be our guest to discuss her discovery that there exist no carbon monoxide detectors for semi-trucks, despite standards that require the device in homes, boats, RV's and airplanes.
Truckers live in their trucks; most of them must idle for comfort control or have an Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) that reduces emissions. Either way, emissions are still an effect to the occupants.
Thanks to Virginia's work, the Underwriters Laboratories (UL) is now developing and setting standards for Smoke and Carbon Monoxide detectors with truckers in mind.
Join us as she shares her findings and her work with manufacturers regarding the special needs of these detectors as related to semis.
Matthew Stepp is Executive Director of ITIF’s Center for Clean Energy Innovation (CCEI). Matthew researches, analyzes and comments on a number of issues related to climate and energy policy, including innovation ecosystems, renewable energy, carbon pricing, deployment subsidies, the Department of Energy, ARPA-E, and the role of states in energy innovation.
He has testified before Congress and his work has appeared in various news and media outlets including the Washington Post, the New York Times, MIT Technology Review, National Journal, and NPR. He is also a regular columnist for The Hill and The Energy Collective.
ENVISION THIS: Harvesting clean energy that saves our forests, helps to reduce climate change, and can be used as a soil amendment.
You can see why our guest, Greg Martin, is enthusiastic about introducing biochar to you and to the world. Biochar is a name for charcoal created by pyrolysis, the direct thermal decomposition of biomass in the absence of oxygen. Biochar is stable, fixed, and 'recalcitrant' carbon that can store large amounts of greenhouse gases in the ground for centuries, potentially reducing or stalling the growth in atmospheric greenhouse gas levels. Its presence in the earth can improve water quality, increase soil fertility, raise agricultural productivity, and reduce pressure on old-growth-forests.
Pre-Columbian Amazonians are believed to have used biochar to enhance soil productivity. Today biochar is produced through modern pyrolysis processes to obtain an array of solid (biochar), liquid (bio-oil), and gas (syngas) products. We think it is well worth our adding knowledge of this new/old technology to our “kit” of ways to create a more resilient and Earth-friendly future.
Tonight is Saturday night debate the topic is Elijah Muhammad correct & the white race grafted.

Joseph Strider drops by for the first hour to discuss his new CD and share some of the songs with us.
Acoustic guitarist Joseph Strider has covered a lot of musical ground in his career thus far. From boy soprano in school choirs, to playing with a cover band, Strider has spent the years developing his own unique style, a style that fits in no established genre and can best be described as Modern Indigenous Alternative.
Strider received his first guitar at age nine. As a teen and young adult he gained valuable experience over a six year period of touring in his home state of Texas. In the years since he has refined his unorthodox playing style, determined to fully utilize the potential of the acoustic guitar. Inspired by guitarists such as Michael Hedges, Bruce Cockburn, Tommy Emmanuel, and Andre Segovia, Jimmy Page, the self-taught Strider has pursued his musical ambitions with a determination and eloquence that not many can match.
With no formal training or instruction, Joseph Strider has had the freedom to explore and develop a very personal relationship with his chosen instrument. That relationship is fully realized with his latest CD Carbon 14, which will be discussed during this show.
In addition to the release of the new CD, the new year will be a busy one for Strider, but no matter how frenzied the pace becomes, it is the music that moves Joseph, the voice of Spirit that he has been blessed to hear and to pass on, that inspires him daily, that fuels the prolific flow of new guitar pieces.
