Today and looking back on tv it is a sad view especially for children. Television and views that are children friendly, if all television viewing was children friendly there would not show a need for rated PG. Children can view all rating even rated R. The television world play ad's, commercials, movies and much more and leave the rating to choose up to parents.I strongly believe Hollywood should promote rated PG everything. But Money and rating are their strong holding.
Our post-Thanksgiving program (Canadian Thanksgiving, that is) features two great Canadian acts from different ends of the stylistic spectrum.
Victoria Banks is fresh off the release of Indigo, her third studio album, a collection of songs stemming from bare-bones midnight recording sessions in her attic. In addition to her own multi-award-nominated releases, Banks is a staff songwriter at Nashville’s RareSpark Media Group with a catalogue that includes hits for the likes of Sara Evans, Jessica Simpson, One More Girl, Doc Walker, and Johnny Reid
As for The Meds, the PEI-based rock outfit has been touring the country on the back of their debut full-length, South America. Theirs is a sound that blends easily-accessible mainstream rock with a folky, poetic vocal style and plenty of substance. The album was co-produced by Matt Mays and Colin MacDonald of The Trews.
Radio provided another possible programming model. As we mentioned before many early TV shows were in fact based on radio programs, some of which were even simulcast for years on both media. Back when radio was king, the jump from sound to sight was pretty common both in America and the UK.
Join Young Media Critics Host, Juanita Richburg Seon and her young associate, Erika Shoemaker as they talk about the early radio shows that "jumped from radio to television - from "sound to sight"

Television, a medium of communication. Television was not invented by a single inventor, instead many people working together and alone over the years, contributed to the evolution of television.
The 'first' generation of television sets were not entirely electronic. The display (TV screen) had a small motor with a spinning disc and a neon lamp, which worked together to give a blurry reddish-orange picture about half the size of a business card! The period before 1935 is called the "Mechanical Television Era". This type of television is not compatible with today's fully-electronic television system.
Join Young Media Critics host Juanita Richburg Seon and her young associate Erika Shoemaker as they explore the medium "Television" on this week's "I'll Have a Medium, Please - Television!

This week's show is a bit of a stylistic roller coaster, featuring performer/songwriter John Southworth, Quebec-based hardcore outfit Obey the Brave, and Kingston rock quintet The Glorious Sons.
Southworth is set to drop his latest LP, a double album called Niagara that's divided into a Canadian and American side, at the end of September. We speak about how the album took shape as well as some of his other artistic endavours and how they correlate.
Obey The Brave, comprised of ex members of Blind Witness and Despised Icon, released their second full-length effort Salvation mid-September. We speak with vocalist Alex Erian about the band's progress since their debut, Young Blood, as well as the current state of the hardcore scene.
Finally, the boys of Glorious Sons are fresh off the release of their debut full-length The Union, produced in tandem with John-Angus MacDonald of The Trews and the one and only Gavin Brown (Billy Talent, Three Days Grace). We get the scoop on the band's success thus far and some of their upcoming plans.
We are all or have been addicted to TV. It is DESIGNED to be addicting. But it has also been designed to control what we think. On today's show we will discuss how we are mind controlled with John & Bonnie Mitchell.
Bonnie Jean Mitchell is a life-long contactee who has interacted with friendly, multidimensional “star people” since she was a young child. She has also experienced negative alien abductions and military abductions known as MILABS. In the year 2000, she graduated from The College of William & Mary and began working on her first book, Invitation to the Self; journey with the star people, published in 2005. Her website, alienabductionhelp.com, is a supportive environment for contactees and abductees.
John Mitchell, with a background in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Merchant Marines, traveled to the infamous Area 51, Nevada and filmed dozens of daytime UFOs in 2006. His experience included five hours of missing time and the filming of two UFOs leaving the scene of his abduction. These events began John’s research which has revealed connections to both the enslavement and the freeing of mankind. John wishes to enlighten others to Truth to help expand their consciousness.
Together, Bonnie and John run awakenvideo.org, an anthology of videos with categories like DNA Activation and Ascension, Reptilians, Masons and the New World Order, Alternative Energy, Sacred Geometry, HAARP and Project Blue Beam. Their current focus is the danger of Television Sigil Magick.

We're going international this week on Canadian Musician Radio, and who better to have on our first such program than the almighty Slash. With his single "World on Fire" setting rock charts ablaze, the iconic guitarist speaks with Andrew just one day following the release of the album of the same name - his latest solo offering with Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators. We'll talk about the record, his trademark guitar sound, and why Canada is so significant to his music career
Also on the show is American folk/rock outfit Trampled by Turtles, who speak with Mike fresh off of the release of Wild Animals, their seventh studio offering. With traditional instrumentation and a fresh ear for contemporary melodies and hooks, the band has been racking up high-profile festival billings and plenty of industry attention in recent years.
ISLAMIC LECTURE ON HOW TODAY TELEVISION SHOWS AND MOVIES ARE DANGEROUS TO THE LEARNING PROCESS OF OUR CHILDREN AND HOW IT IS DRIVING THEM TO BECOME IMMORAL IN LIFE TODAY.
Lights is back with her third full-length offering, Little Machines - a gleaming, groundbreaking, generously tuneful slab of brightly hued 21st-century techno-pop brimming with songs so immediate and timelessly pure of heart that they feel like old friends on delivery. We catch up with the singer to talk about her latest release and some of the things she's got on the go surrounding its release.
We also have Amos the Transparent and the Luke Austin Band on the show. The former is dropping their LP, This Cold Escape, on Oct. 7th. The record is dubbed as a "loosely biographical rock opera" by the band, and it is one of the group’s most accessible and emotionally-bare releases to date. As for the Luke Austin Band, they've been earning accolades for their rowdy alt-rock sound with the kind of intensity and harmony that reminds people of musicians like Bruce Springsteen, Kings Of Leon, and The Killers. They've got an upcoming EP that will feature the hit "Long Road Home."
