Why should police use body cams? This is the best way to get the true story of events? Will the cause officers to be more professional in the demeanor and actions? Will the public feel safer? How does law enforcement benefit from the use of body cams? Pictures and videos are worth a 1000 words, so why not. How will the use of cameras impact the use of deadly force? Will there be less killings of unarmed citizens? Do the benefits out way the costs?
This week we'll be discussing why personal beliefs and science aren't compatible, why the opinions of children in science classrooms are irrelevant, and what the far-right has done to convince the scientifically illiterate that there's a debate about the veracity of evolution.
Also, Jerry Coyne stepped outside of his realm of expertise and said something stupid about the historicity of Jesus.
The Riverside City Council is facing an upcoming vote that will determine the fate of the system of cameras that take pictures at serveral intersections in town. When the red-light camera system started in Riverside there were 30 cameras-- already several have been removed-- however the city still has 11 cameras in operation.
The red-light cameras in Riverside are operated by Redflex, a company based in Arizona.
Riverside Council Member Mike Soubirous is a former CHP commander, and he believes the camera system should be removed. The question: Does the rest of the council agree, or at least a simple majority?
Soubirous will join us LIVE on InstantRiverside.com Talk Radio. We'll also take calls from listeners, especially people who live in Riverside. Do you want the red-light cameras to stay or go?

ICAA News and Views, plus speical guest, one of the creators of the movement "Cameras in Special Needs Classrooms" will join us. Then we will have a refreshingly honest discussion about media commentary surrounding the recent Colorado tragedy, which includes Joe Scarborough of MSNBC, claiming the alleged gunman must be somewhere on the "autism scale". Oh, My!
For the record, here is the ICAA public statement:
"The recent comments made by Joe Scarborough were a sad yet strong illustration of the prevailing ignorance and bigotry in our culture regarding disabilities, specifically autism. The ICAA has reached out to Mr. Scarborough through our ICAA Radio program, offering a unique opportunity to issue an apology, retraction or other statement to our community. Mr. Scarborough seems to be an otherwise thoughtful individual, who has been awarded authority and opportunity to voice his opinions to millions on a global scale. We hope that Mr. Scarborough will become better educated about autism, and gain some perspective. The marginalization of autistic people, and people with other disabilities, is equally outrageous to the marginalization of people with racial or other differences. Mr. Scarborough and others in the media would do well to join us in our efforts to make the world a better place, rather than continue as a part of the problem."

Then she reintroduced Abbott’s comments earlier this year — unpopular in the Valley — comparing South Texas corruption to a third-world country.
“Mr. Abbott, these cuts and the cuts that you’re defending that have left our classrooms overcrowded, that have left our teachers laid off, that’s not liberal, that’s not conservative, it’s just dumb,” Wendy Davis
Abbott brought up a local issue once more before the end of the debate. Arguing for his position in favor of strong voter ID laws, the attorney general referenced the federal indictment against two women in Hidalgo County who, according to an FBI complaint, traded cocaine for votes in the 2012 Democratic primary.
Carlos Sanchez of the Monitor said the clear winners were voters in the Valley. Other organizers agreed, with a nod toward even further electoral power in the region in future elections. The Monitor
