This show will focus on the cold blooded killing of Walter L. Scott by former Charleston (SC) Patrolman Michael T. Slager, 33.

Scott, a 50-year old Coast Guard veteran and father of four, died Saturday after Slager shot him in the back.

Five of the eight bullets hit Scott. Four of those struck his back. One hit an ear.

The footage filmed by a bystander shows the end of the confrontation between Scott and Slager after Scott ran from a traffic stop. The video evidence contradictis an account Slager gave earlier this week through his former attorney.

WebbWeaver Books Proudly Presents: Author Keith Steinbaum

    in Books

In a section of Los Angeles near Dodger Stadium, two rival gangs rule the streets. For the Alvarado Street Diablos, it's been a year since the murder of one of their closest members at the hands of their sworn enemy, the North Rampart Lobos. A drive-by killing in his honor is planned, but things go wrong and an innocent bystander is the victim. Several hours later the one who pulled the trigger suffers a horrifying death, caused by something never before seen in its uniqueness. Many more such cases follow, all involving only these two gangs among the hundreds throughout the city. And each death occurs at the same time of day. The exact same time of day. What can these two enemies do to survive against an unstoppable power intent on their mutual destruction? How is a gang-hating young boy's attempt to save the life of a gang member tied into preventing a loved one's soul from eternal damnation? What does a mysterious psychic's prophecy conveyed earlier in New Orleans have to do with all of this? Exploring both the darkness and hope that define our emotions, The Poe Consequence integrates social and ethnic divisions through acts of fate and supernatural horror for the reader to observe and imagine.

Carolyn Evans-Dean Bystander: A Tale of the End of the World

    in Business

Born in the snowbelt of NY State, Carolyn Evans-Dean was raised in a small town where being prepared for emergencies was a way of life. After moving to a city, she shed her preparedness mindset and embraced the easy access lifestyle of 24 hour grocery stores and fast food...until a regional disaster caused her to re-examine her choices and high-tail it back to the sanity and security of preparedness.   Along the way, she decided to share the sensible preparedness and homesteading mindset with other women in the form of a series of novels about a small town that finds itself floundering after devastating terrorist attacks rock the United States.   Bystander: A Tale of the End of the World as SHE Knew It and the sequel Christmas In Bystander are both available at Amazon.com or on her own website www.BystanderBooks.com   She joins us today to talk this and more!

Identifying Campus Bullies By Empowering The Bystander is title

    in Self Help

Appddiction Studio’s Stop Bullies district wide smartphone app empowers bystanders to capture bully events as they occur and report them to school administrators in real time. School administrators can then begin to investigate the incidents immediately utilizing the Stop Bullies secure dashboard which allows for the receipt, analysis and management of incidents across the district. With incident information captured by the bystander trained professionals within the school can put their training and intervention expertise to work thus making the campus safer. School counselors can then work on proactively preventing the next incident without spending valuable time on “He said-She said” type interviews.
Mr. Porter recommends that every school district should consider implementing the Stop Bullies app. Stop Bullies can be downloaded by district students in grades K-12 to work on any smartphone regardless of platform including iPhone/iPad/iPad Mini/iPod Touch/Android/Android Tablets/Windows 8/Blackberry and is multi-language.
Mr. Porter has over 20 years of leadership experience in the information technology industry. He proudly served for 10 years in the United States Army. Tim earned his Masters of Business Administration from the University of the Incarnate Word.
