"Truck Driver Health- The "best" health program for you is.... "
Thursday 6PM ET 347-826-917
As move forward with Driver Health discussions we realize more and more that there is no "one size fits all health program" . If you believe there is, you're setting yourself up for failure.
We can take in all the information we want, but the bottom line is we need to apply knowledge to our lives, and what works for John, may not work for Mary, and yet John and Mary are BOTH improving their health. How could that be?
Although than most people concerned about health will agree to avoid: processed foods, trans fats, GMO's, sugar, soda ,artificial ingredients and chemicals, pesticides, herbicides..... AND to increase organic food, water consumption, exercise,.... There still needs to be that all important consideration of the Person making the change.
So what diet is best? Here's a few choices : Paleo Diet, Vegan Diet, Vegetarian Diet, Raw Diet, Zone Diet, Atkins Diet... and the list goes on.
Join us tonight as Donna Smith of Trucking Social Media and Tom Kyrk of Road Tested Living discuss the absolute BEST health program for YOU... Call us and share how you either have achieved, or are in the process of achieving your goal towards PERSONALIZED optimal health.
Haven't Decided which health program is best for you?
We hope by the time the show is over tonight...... YOU"LL KNOW.
CALL IN 347-826-9170 and share your thoughts, knowledge, and testimony with us!
Thursday 7/30/15 6PM ET “Drivers under stress”
This weeks Truck Driver Health series addresses drivers under stress. Continued discussions on health leads us down another path this week, emotional difficulty and how it affects each person.
There are many drivers who have had or are having emotional difficulty while driving professionally. What do they do? Who do they turn to? Is there light at the end of the tunnel?
Tonight as our guest we have professional driver and driver advocate Toby Bogard. Many know Toby for his nutritional insight and exercise videos, including his latest one Truckers Workout
Toby will share with us his own recent trials and where he reached out for help as well as how he came out victoriously, stronger than ever and now continuing his goals to help others.
Join us as we discuss the many difficulties that so many drivers go through, as well as the light at the end of the tunnel.

This week we will continue to unravel the Sandra Bland death and why it means so much to the black Twenty and Thirty somethings of today. Delve into why this situation should matter to everyone who promotes justice and fairness. We will also cover the hot topics that matter to our communities. You are welcome to drop your seasoning into the pot. The only way we get to the bottom of the pot is by all of us pitching in to provide our views and opinions. Once we have voiced our thoughts we will conclude with solutions that our listeners can use to affect change in our respective neighborhoods and country.
Rodriguez v. US, 13-9972 (SCOTUS 2015)-The Court ruled that a traffic stop, absent reasonable suspicion or consent, cannot be extended even for a few minutes after the conclusion of a traffic stop in order to conduct a K-9 sniff of the vehicle. In this case the driver was stopped and issued a warning. He was then asked for permission to remain so the officer can conduct a K-9 sniff. The driver refused. The officer detained the driver anyway until another officer arrived. The officer conducted the K-9 sniff approx. 8 minutes after the stop was concluded. Drugs were found in the vehicle after the K-9 alerted. The driver was arrested. The Court held that the detention beyond the length of the traffic stop was an unreasonable seizure in violation of the Constitution.

"Bess the Book Bus, Inc. is a mobile literacy outreach founded in 2002 in honor of my Nana, Bess O'Keefe. Bess, nicknamed Nana Bus, taught me the joy of reading. Every weekend we would walk into town where I was able to choose a new book. I could not wait to get home and have her read to me. Nana Bus opened a new world for me every time she opened a book and started to read. Bess the Book Bus was founded on one simple premise - bring that same joy of reading to children everywhere. From humble beginnings with a Volkswagen Van, she now does many visits nationwide and gives tens of thousands of books to children of all ages." ~Jennifer Frances, Founder
Bess the Book Bus is dedicated to reading to children, promoting literacy, and getting books in to the homes of underprivileged children and families across the country. The 2015 Transitions Success is in Sight tour will serve 25,000+ kids in more than 35 states. They hope to give away 100,000 new books. Bess’ kids will also have access to free comprehensive eye exams and free glasses fitted with Transitions Lenses thanks to their partners at Transitions.
