SORT BY Relevancy
After the recent events highlighting racial profiling apparently committed by high-end retailer Barneys, Jay-Z, who has a limited-edition accessory line with the store, has been called on to pull his business.
His response so far has been to withhold final judgement until he has all the facts.
This has sparked an interesting dialog as to whether or not Jay Z could, should or will disengage from the retailer.
We'll discuss, and will ask for your opinions, so call in!
Also, Funkmaster Flex has announced he is working on a new mixtape along with Queens upstart Action Bronson, and a slew of A-list producers.
We ask: Is Funk Flex even relevant anymore? Does Action Bronson benefit from this? And is this another example of Hot 97 pretending to support New York artists, but only when there is a financial incentive.
These discussions and whatever else come up, only on the true voice of New York hip hop community, The NY Hip Hop Report.
The Rising Apple Report returns for its 38th episode on the final Wednesday of the regular season. Dan Haefeli will host for the second consecutive week, and he is joined by RA Report regulars Sam Maxwell and Rich Sparago for 30 of the Metsiest minutes of your week!
With four games remaining at home against the Milwaukee Brewers, the big question seems to be whether or not the Mets will get a protected draft pick in next year's draft. Whether or not they do could have implications in free agency, so we'll be sure to discuss whether or not it could or should impact the Mets' offseason plans. Also, with news that Jonathon Niese may not start the final game of the season and that Zack Wheeler was shut down with shoulder discomfort, we'll investigate how important starting pitching will be on Sandy Alderson's shopping list (including rumors of Reds pitcher Bronson Arroyo showing interest in these Mets).
Also, with the season winding down, we'll look at some of our favorite memories of the 2013 season, and look into the playoffs which begin next week.

Yvette’s first spiritual experience involved a bright light, a voice, the feeling of the most incredible enveloping love, and the bathroom of her Oklahoma Grade School. From that moment on, during the next 10 years she spent in a religious cult, Yvette measured everything she knew against the strength of that experience. She still does.
Yvette loves the question “why?” She loves the answers she receives. She has studied Astrology since she was 11, and Linda Goodman is her astrological hero. Tarot drew her interest in 1995 as well as Reiki. She became a Registered Nurse in 1998 and Widowed at the age of 29. Yvette had only child when she was 39. She found out she was pregnant 2 hours before giving birth. Yvette loves to read, and music makes her dance. The most influential people in Yvette’s life are her Grandma, Mother, Daughter and Louisa May Alcott.
Yvette’s style of reading is reflective. She reads a snapshot of the person in that very moment and recognizes their beauty and reflects it back so they can see themselves as they truly are. Yvette’s goal is to empower, her hope is to reflect, and her fear is to become too attached to the outcome.
