Speak Life Radio ~ You Are Not Alone
Blessings family and welcome back to another amazing show! Our topic is "You Are Not Alone." So many people are suffering in silence especially around this time of year. Our guest is Ms. Novella Renae an expert in abuse and trauma will address this very serious topic. Sometimes we feel like we are the only ones going through what we're going through until we hear someone else with a simular story, then we realize we are not alone! There are many things that make a person feel alone , therefore suffer in silence, one of which is abuse. Sometimes when people have been abused they don't feel comfortable sharing their feelings with others, therefore they bury them until something happens to make them explode. We will be taking about these issues and many others such as feeling alone during the holidays! Don't be alone, Please join us!
Remember a guy named Jonas Gray? Whom Belichick showed the light of day?
With Ridley gone, and redzone empty, Gray would score, and did a'plenty,
200-plus yards on 30-plus carries, the record books he did so bury.
But on one fateful day, an app, did not Gray wake from evening nap,
The Belichick- all fire and flames, told Jonas "You Will Rue the Day!"
And rue he did and will remain, in shadows of LeGarrette's fame.
Thanks for joining us,
Dave and Jason
Barbara's solo singing career was preceded by a stint as a vocalist in the popular Portland, Oregon band, Pepe and the Bottle Blondes. The group appeared with the Oregon Symphony Pops, the Britt Festival in Jackson, Oregon, and in venues throughout Oregon as well as in Reno and Seattle. In 2002, Barbara went solo, and since then has been performing throughout the Pacific Northwest with regular engagements in such premier venues as Jimmy Mak's, the Liberty Theater in Astoria, the Heathman and Benson Hotels, and the Allison. She has also appeared at Portland's Cathedral Park Jazz Festival and the Portland Jazz Festival.
The concept for Rock Me Sweet came from Barbara's dear friend Tom Nunan, an executive producer of many films and TV shows including the Oscar-winning “Best Picture,” Crash. Tom suggested taking rock anthems originally recorded by male artists and slowing the tempos down to give them a smoky torch ballad feel. "Once we brought the tempos down, the emotions and stories contained in the lyrics emerged so clearly. I began to love these songs more and more, and to gain new admiration for the artists who conceived them,” she says.
