Why you need to bridge gaps. Now.

    in Lifestyle

We all have talents; we all have dreams, we all have passion- the question is, are we using them? The cookie-cutter approach to success no longer works. Laden with debt at the time of graduation and unable to get living wages, many millennials are looking for alternatives to the systemic model. Furthermore, many citizens in this country are resisting oppression and marginalization. With the upward mobility of our youth compromised, how can we be competitive in the global economy? How long will we continue to blindly follow a model that cannot be sustained, psychological or otherwise by the population? It's time we bridge the gap between where we are and where we need to be. The silent majority must begin to work towards solving the enormous amount of issues that the citizenry faces. It is crucial to establishing the integrity and the ideals of the Republic. Enough is enough. Here is a brief introduction to the Bridge Gap Initiative and why you should join me in this effort.

Guardian of the Golden Gate Bridge

    in Lifestyle

Sgt. Kevin Briggs (also known as the Guardian of the Golden Gate Bridge) is a retired California Highway Patrol officer who has stopped upwards of two hundred people from jumping off of the Golden Gate Bridge into the San Francisco Bay.

The Golden Gate Bridge is the second-most used suicide site/suicide bridge in the world

In 1990, Kevin Briggs graduated from the California Highway Patrol (CHP) academy and worked predominately on the Golden Gate Bridge (GGB). This assignment proved to be very challenging, as the GGB produced an average of four to six suicidal subjects, multiple collisions, and dozens of other law enforcement “calls” each month. In 1999, he completed training at the CHP Motor School, and in 2008, was promoted to Sergeant. Having graduated from the FBI’s Crisis Negotiation Course, one of his duties was to train new CHP officers and GGB staff on crisis interventions/negotiations.

Sgt. Kevin Briggs retired from the CHP in November, 2013, to promote Crisis Management, Leadership Skills, and Suicide Intervention/Prevention worldwide.

Join Hosts Denise & Danielle with guest, Kevin Briggs, as they discuss his experiences as Guardian of the Golden Gate Bridge, crisis intervention and suicide prevention.

    The Bridge with Kira

    in Art

Welcome to The Bridge, the historical meeting place of youth from all walks of life in small towns and big cities; a place to listen to music, laugh, talk and exchange news and ideas. The Bridge is meant to be a vehicle for my listener friends to share ideas and expand consciousness… from one state of consciousness to another. The Bridge is a way to give voice to the voices that are not commonly heard and share perspectives that are not commonly known, giving rise to authentic cross-cultural communication and understanding.
