The Washington Nationals jumped out to a 5-1 lead after three and a half in the series opener with the Milwaukee Brewers in Miller Park and ended up losing a 6-5 decision when Scooter Gennett drove in a run with a two-out single in the bottom of the eighth.
Washington Nationals' starter Max Scherzer was perfect through six, but he settled for a complete game shutout of the Milwaukee Brewers in which he struck out 16 batters. 4-0 final in Miller Park. Nats earn split of the four-game set in Wisconsin.
The Tigers finally beat the Milwaukee Brewers 5-2 to salvage one in the 3-game series at Comerica Park. They face the Houston Astros next. The Astros lead the AL West with a 27-14 record 5 1/2 games ahead of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
The wait is over. Mike Babcock decides to leave the Detroit Red Wings and sign an 8-year, $50-million contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs, and AHL Grand Grapids Griffins head coach Jeff Blashill is the "leading candidate" to be the next head coach, according to general manager Ken Holland.
His Griffins will take on the Utica Comets in the Western Conference Finals in the Calder Cup Playoffs, after the Comets shut out the Oklahoma City Barons 1-0 in Game 7 of the Conference Semifinals.
The Washington Nationals took the third game of four with Milwaukee in Miller Park, beating the Brewers 7-2 tonight and rookie right-hander Joe Ross earned his first MLB win with eight strong innings on the mound in Wisconsin. Congrats, Joe.
Aramis Ramirez was 3 for 4 with three doubles and five RBIs in the Milwaukee Brewers' 8-4 win over the Washington Nationals in Miller Park. Jordan Zimmermann struggled on the mound in his home state and was out after just 3 ? IP. Bryce Harper and Tyler Moore hit homers though...
The Tigers upset themselves against the worst team in the National League, the Milwaukee Brewers, 3-2 in the first of a 3-game series at Comerica Park, and I go crazy about it, as Ed Smith co-hosts with me. This has to be one of the most disgraceful games we've ever seen! DISGRACEFUL! I'll explain it.
I also have an update each on Tigers starting pitcher Justin Verlander and Red Wings head coach Mike Babcock, who was earlier reportedly offered a 6-year, $30-million deal by the Buffalo Sabres.
LIVE for 30 minutes: Call in at (231) 429-3668!
The Tigers get smashed by the Milwaukee Brewers 8-1 tonight. Anibal Sanchez gives up 3 home runs, including a 3-run homer down the right-field line off the bat of Ryan Braun, and the offense continues to lack production. What do they need to do to improve their offense?
Designated hitter Victor Martinez has been put on the 15-day disabled list due to left knee inflammation. Outfielder Tyler Collins was called up from the AAA Toledo Mud Hens as a result.
Mike Babcock talks to both the Red Wings and Buffalo Sabres. The Wings offer him a short-term deal, but then the Buffalo Sabres offer him $50 million. Which will he take?
The Pistons will be handed the 8th overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft. Who do you think will they pick?
Be sure to tun into tonight's show live from 7-9pm CST! We've got another classic lined up. We'll be joined by Milwaukee Mayoral Candidate, James Methu, to hear what he likes & dislikes about the new Milwaukee Bucks arena funding plan and how he'd change it. We'll also touch on the Shaquille O'Neal vs Scottie Pippen drama, as well as the Ghostface Killah vs Action Bronson beef! Also, we'll touch on if the Milwaukee Brewers should be sellers, John Henson's contract extension, and the addition of Chris Copeland. Tune in!?
Get in the game this Tuesday evening at 7 pm, with the "Frat Boys" Nick, Sean & Caleb; they're running the bases in a truly unique edition of Frat House Sports' Clean-Up Hitters #20.
Tick, tock, tick, tock...the countdown to the MLB Trade Deadline is fast approaching and the results have been a flurry of activity in both the rumor and franchise markets. The guys will be discussing the fact and fiction surrounding Cole Hamels, Yasiel Puig, Johnny Cueto...Chase Utley? Seriously? It's a "buyers' market" and maybe a "fire sale" all over the baseball landscape with just 3 days left!
On Sunday the MLB Hall of Fame recognized 4 new inductees and the guys are offering up their impressions of one of the most electric (and eclectic) "class" in the Hall's history. Plus, man-oh-man...Commissioner Rob Manfred recently commented on "hot-button" issues including: pushing back the trade deadline, how the league anticipates more Cuban inclusion (expansion?) and his "pending" meeting with Pete Rose.
Of course, a look at the (meaningless?) "power rankings" and the (meaningful !) scores/standings from Caleb's Sports Machine is on-deck; a surprise or 2, and the popular weekly Series Streak Challenge has to be updated...who is that in the Lead there? Yep. The boys are in scoring position, so call in your thoughts LIVE to 347-826-9964 beginning at 7 pm (edt) !

Suicide is a serious public health problem that takes an enormous toll on families, friends, classmates, co-workers, and communities, as well as on our military personnel and veterans.
Uncovering the reason for an individual suicide death is complex and challenging. What we know from research is that 90% of people who die by suicide have a potentially treatable mental disorder at the time of their death—a disorder that often has gone unrecognized and untreated.
Join us for a very frank conversation about Suicide. Host Celeste S. Duckworth, with featured guests, LeAnn Hull, Founder/CEO of Andy Hull's Foundation, Brett A. Scudder, President/Chairman at The Suicide Prevention Institute, Roy Hobbs, News Anchor at WRDE News, Tisa Key, Actor/Writer/Filmmaker, and Jacqui Letran, CEO of Teen Confidence Academy, will share their experiences, what they have learned, breaking myths, and how they are advocating to prevent this tragic event.
